Randy Moss says he wants to make a comeback

Retired WR Randy Moss announced in a Monday video chat that he's planning to attempt a comeback.
"I just wanna go to a team and play some football," Moss said. "Faith, family, and football, that’s my M.O., bro. Your boy be back for the upcoming season." Moss made the announcement during a chat celebrating his 35th birthday. He also revealed his "retirement" was due to off-the-field issues that have since been resolved. There will be a heavy burden on Moss to prove he's serious after he mailed it in more than ever during a disastrous 2010 season, prompting two teams to give up on him. New England, who has yet to find an adequate replacement for Moss since dealing him to the Vikings, figures to be a frequently rumored landing spot.

I know Randy would love to return to New England, but that bridge is burned and after what he pulled in Minny, I doubt anybody would want to take a chance on him.

Not to mention this is one of the deeper WR draft classes and there's probably a dozen or more potential free agent WR's hitting the market I'd take easily over him. Good luck Randy, but you may have to join TO in the AFL.

ESPN's Cris Carter said on SportsCenter Monday that he "knows" free agent Randy Moss can still run a 4.3 forty time at age 35.
"The thing about Randy is, he's never really been hurt. And he still can run very, very fast," said Carter. "... I know he can run 4.3 today. I know he can still jump out of the bed and run 4.3."

Well, there you have it. Cris Carter says it so it must be so.

32 teams are now interested in his services.

Real glad I made that late season flier in Premier. A motivated Moss is a starter.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't think we'll see him again.

But heck, if it doesn't cost you anything, you might as well grab him and find out. Crazier things have happened.

I got your back. I can't see why any team not heading for the playoffs would want him. I can't see any contender wanting his baggage.

35 and clearly lost a step in his last year. Nope.

He was awful when he left Titans/Vikings..

GMs are looking for guys who can run..Randy can't run anymore and it doesn't matter what Chris Carter says.. there is plenty of tape out there to show he can't seperate anymore..not to mention all he has the heart to do is run outside the numbers which makes him completely useless since he can't run anymore.

Just stay away Randy. Let us remember you for the freak you were. No need to tarnish it.

Perhaps the numbers bear that out.

According to Colin Cowherd a short time ago on his radio show, Moss has been targeted 70 times in the last 3 seasons (that he played) on passes that travelled more than 20 yards in the air with 17 receptions or about 24% - the lowest of any starting NFL receiver.

Not sure what the average % would be but if you're the lowest percentage, then it's bad no matter what.

On the flip side, in two of those seasons ('08 & '09) he had double digit TD receptions. Also, his combined catches in those three years included 50 plays of 20 or more yards so we'll have to take Cowherd's stats with a grain of salt.
