Looks like the 'my guy' call from McKenzie is taking roots throughout the football coaching staff:

GM: Reggie McKenzie (Al Davis)

HC: Dennis Allen (Hue Jackson)

OC: Greg Knapp (Al Saunders)
OL: Frank Pollack (Bob Wylie), S Wiznewiski (asst, no change)
RB: Kelly Skipper (no change)
QB: John DeFilippo (none)
WR: Ted Gilmore (Sanjay Lal)
TE: Mark Hutson (Adam Henry)
OQC: Justin Griffith
Senior Assistant: Al Saunders

DC: Jason Tarver (Chuck Bresnahan)
DL: Terrell Williams (Mike Wauffle)
LB: Johnnie Holland (Greg Biekert)
DB: Johnnie Lynn, Clayton Lopez (Rod Woodson (CB), Kevin Ross (S))
DQC: Eric Sanders (switched from defense to offense)

ST: Steve Hoffman (John Fassel)
SC: Al Miller, assisted by John Greico (Brad Roll)

Candidates denied permission:

DC? Brad Johnson, Saints DL
DC? Richard Smith, Broncos LB
ST/asst HC Joe DeCamillis, Cowboys ST

The saving grace is that Dennis Allen really has full control of the coaching staff. Hopefully, the sum of the whole is more than the individual parts..

Raiders sign Ted Gilmore as WR coach.

Nice! should be an upgrade over Lal, for sure!

Quote:
The Raiders will hire USC wide receiver coach Ted Gilmore to coach wide receivers, replacing Sanjay Lal, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Gilmore coached one of the most productive groups of wide receivers in the country on the staff of former Raiders coach Lane Kiffin.

Quote:
FootballScoop is proud to announce that Ted Gilmore (USC) is the 2011 FootballScoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year presented by SpeedTracs.

Ted Gilmore was hired in February of 2011 to work with the Trojan receivers, and his guys were exceptionally impressive this season. In his first season with the Trojans, Ted Gilmore had the opportunity to mold two young receivers into some of the most feared route runners in the college game. Prior to coming to USC, Gilmore spent six seasons at Nebraska as the recruiting coordinator and receivers coach.

Head coach Lane Kiffin told FootballScoop, "Ted did a tremendous job with our wide receivers this year. Not only did he help guide a sophomore and a freshman -- Robert Woods and Marqise Lee -- to the most combined receptions for two players among BCS schools this year in the regular season, but he also got the most out of our entire receiving corps. Our receiving unit was arguably the best in the nation and Ted played a major role in that."

It looks like their coaching staff is making some great changes and rebuilding from the ground up. I hope they structure themselves within the staffing to build a concrete team of players. It's much needed and long overdue. As a fan, I'm anxious to see how well they do this year...but no expectations. Thanks for the info guys! I'm bookmarking this site to stay posted.
