Guy in my league just offered Charles for Rivers
I need a RB

Keepers are
Rivers
Mendy
Green
White
Wayne
Pettigrew
R. Williams

I have first pick overall and will be taking Luck

What is health status of Charles?
Is Rivers on decline with no #1 wr?

Mendy will prob start on PUP?

I keep hearing that Mendy's injury was worse than expected and will most likely start on the PUP.

If you league is a normal scoring league with PPR i would make the trade.

I would consider keeping Rivers and drafting Trent Richardson with #1 overall pick. I would also consider dropping Mendy (if you have anyone else worth keeping) b/c he probably will have no impact this season due to his knee injury occurring so late last season.

Yes normal scoring leage. PPR is worth 1 point.

Any status on Charles? How will Hillis affect his production?

you should be keeping rivers and drafting richardson.

rivers threw for 30 tds in the season where VJax held out most of the season.

Ok but why Richardson?
We don't even know what team he will be on. What is with the lovefest for Richardson?

That's like saying taking Ingram over Newton is still the right choice.

I just feel like a keeper such as Luck doesn't come around too often and the shelf life of a RB is limited vs a QB.

Why take Richardson when I can trade for Charles?

He wont make it out of the top 10 for one, any team using a top ten pick for richardson is most likely in a need type scenario.

No its not like that at all

I just feel like a keeper such as Luck doesn't come around too often and the shelf life of a RB is limited vs a QB.

You have a qb already thats good enough, are you really going to go through this just to get a qb who might be as good or slightly better than rivers. Do you really think hes going to come out of the gates throwing for 28-30 tds a season in Indy. The shelf life thing is one of the reason you should be taking the best RB off the board..

Why take Richardson when I can trade for Charles?

IF you follow the above, then this is moot

I would keep Rivers over Charles. Agree also that you should go after Richardson with the 1st pick too. Right now you don't know the status of Charles and how healthy he will be in the start of the season. If you start 2 QBs then yes I would agree to draft Luck but if you don't then why would you pass up on a young RB that will get a workload for atleast the next 5 years. Also if the trade was for another RB that didn't just have an ACL tear then I would probably do it and go for Luck. Just can't see how you can afford to start the season off with 2 RBs that will have their roles decreased. Hillis will take carries away from Charles.

My point is - Luck is a guarantee
The QB position has the highest payoff fantasy wise over a longer period of time. Look at Rodgers, Brady, Brees, now add Newton to the mix.

I'm obviously going to wait to see where Richardson goes but at this point it's still Luck for me.
Richardson is not a lock at all. He's a poor man's AP and hasn't even proven he can carry the load for multiple seasons in a row.
He sat behind Ingram for 3 years.

Also, my league is 1 pt PPR and Richardson can't catch.
Richardson is also coming off minor knee surgery.

I think you are over valuing Richardson right now.

To each their own. You are the one asking for advice. All we are doing is giving our opinions that is all. Everyone values players differently, at the end of the day its your decision. Do agree and wait till after the draft.

hes the consensus #1 overall in all dynasty rookie drafts. I mean your bringing up his MINOR knee surgery, but yet your ready to trade the qb you do have for a guy who has had an acl and many say cant stay health with a full workload. Your just trying to find reasons to not draft him.

we are not overvaluing richardson, your just overvalueing qbs in general. Ill take richardson all day and everyday before I take a qb. Richardson cant catch? really thats news to me.

last time, you have an adeqaute qb right now, you take luck it will 2-3 years before it pays off for him to help your sqaud better than rivers is now. By that time charles will have been in the league 6 years and you will most likly be looking to replace him. Are you really going to go through all this to maybe get a qb who might throw for a couple TDS more than rivers is now?

you really are making this hard on me.

I hope he goes to a team where he is the featured back and starter.

I actually have two keeper leagues and I have #1 overall in both. So I'm taking the same player in both drafts.

In the other league I have Matt Ryan. Can the same be said about him?

My one friend says that if I don't take Luck that I will regret it for the next 15 years. Being a colts fan also seems to be weighing heavily on me. It's stupid because I know that I can not be drafting with my heart. After all, its about winning money right? I want to win the trophy and win the money every single year.

I do own Ryan Williams in this one. But I guess he is sitting waiting as well and who knows how he will recover.

You make some very very good points.

Ok what about this one?

Rivers and the 25th pick overall
for

Lynch and the 3rd pick overall

So then i would have #1 and #3 and the guy that picks second already has Vick and will probably take Blackmon after I take Richardson with #1

That would still get me Luck

Then take another depth QB for the next couple of years until Luck is Tier 1

decisions decisions

i dont think thats a bad deal at all. youd be getting both luck and richardson, as well as landing lynch whos still pretty young, and coming off a career year.

personally, i dont know if lynch will repeat his production from last year, so im wary of him, but thats personal opinion and you may value him very differently.

youre also taking the risk of an initial set back at qb. all the experts say that luck will be able to start and perform right out of the gates, but hes still a rookie, and rivers is still an elite option in my opinion at qb. obv luck has more long term appeal and i think hell end up being great. but if youre trying to compete for the championship this year, i dont know if you want to do it with luck as your starting qb every week.

otherwise, i think that looks like a solid move for your squad.
