89th pick - Saints select Andrew Datko, Tackle, Florida St

Position needs - None really, just depth everywhere except RB

Others considered - Casey Heyward, Danny Trevathan, and a whole list of WR's (Marvin McNutt, Greg Childs, Chris Owusu, and Tommy Streeter)

Ultimately, this pick comes down to what the Saints believe fall to round 4. There are no dire needs on the team, thankfully since this is their first pick, so they can go BPA. That said, I'd argue it isn't Datko, especially since his return from injury is still an unknown. However, there is a rather steep drop off after he falls off the board at the position whereas there is not at WR and CB (Heyward and Trevathan are BPA imo). The Saints can hope for one of those CB's or WR's to slip, Trevathan would be a luxury pick with all of their LB's, and if Datko returns 100% he is an instant upgrade to a very thin front 5.

With the 90th pick in the 2012 Fantasy Sharks Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Mike Brewster, C, Ohio State

Team Needs: CB, S, LB, DE, C, G/T, QB, RB

Analysis: 6-4, 312, 5.32

Second in Buckeyes history with 49 straight starts. Durable and gritty. He doesn't give up on plays. Maxes out his talent. Wasn't impressive at the Senior Bowl. A step slow against quicker defensive tackles. With veteran Center Jeff Saturday recently signing a two year deal, the Packers have some bought some time in which to develop a young Center like Brewster. Look for him to begin starting for the Packers in 2014.

Others players considered: Dwight Bentley, Jamell Fleming, Brandon Washington, and Trumaine Johnson.

3.30 (92)San Francisco 49ers

The Selection:  Markelle Martin S Oklahoma State

1st Pick: Coby Fleener, TE,  Stanford
2nd Pick: Bucky Brooks, G, Miami (OH)

Team Needs: G, WR and help with the Passing Game, depth

Analysis:  Martin is a rangy center fielder that is a perfect fit to sit behind Goldson for at least a year. He possesses elite athleticism and is explosive at the point of attack Martin loves to separate receivers from the ball, and he will be excellent once he's developed a bit of discipline and better technique. He instinctively takes good angles in coverage, though he can be tricked at times.

Other Considerations: none, really

The 2012 NFL Superbowl Champions, New York Giants, with the #32 pick in third round select:

She will be playing on the offensive line, center position. Its obvious she has talent, so no need for me to go into details. I have decided to take over QB duties from Eli. I have the tool to ensure she doesn't jump offsides! \:D/

For the serious minder fanatics, our second option is Robert Turbin, RB from Utah State. Jacobs is gone and Bradshaw has some questions marks regarding durability.

Pick 95 - Oakland selects, LB, Sean Spence, Miami (FL)
Needs - DT, OLB, MLB backup, depth everywhere
Others considered - Mike Martin, Josh Chapman, Casey Heyward

We are woefully short of depth everywhere, but nowhere as dire as LB and DT. If we plan to run 4-3, we need more lineman/DT, and 3-4, atleast 2 more linebackers (only 3 LBs and a backup so far in Aaron Curry, Rolando McClain, Phillip Wheeler and Travis Goethel).

My BPA choices were:

CB: Alfonzo Dennard, Jayron Hoseley, Casey Heyward
LB: Bruce Irvin, Sean Spence
DT: Mike Martin, Josh Chapman

Considering that Dennard, Hosley and Irvin went earlier, I dont have any problems with Casey Heyward selection. I think my personal choice would have been Spence, but you can never have too many corners.

If we do go with a CB in the 3rd round, I would expect us to go after the best front defensive 7 in the 4th/5th rounds though. If Bartell plays well, he would hold down one of the CB spots for the future and we have a couple of promising young CBs in Chimdi Chekwa and Demarcus Van Dyke.

And thus concludes one of the few bright spots of an otherwise dull time of year for Fantasy Sharks. Thanks for crapping all over Birddog's great idea and hard work. You're a real class act, Griff.
