Leshoure suspended the first two games of the 2012 season

and this:

Quote:
Lions RB Mikel Leshoure had a break-through on Thursday, practicing fully for the first time since Achilles surgery last summer.
"We ran him left. We ran him right. He was making cuts off defenders. He was making cuts as they appeared," said coach Jim Schwartz. "He was a running back. He wasn't doing rehab ... That's an important step."y

I'd rather gamble on Leshoure, his ADP is lower for now and I would guess his injury is less likely to reoccur.

Every time I think of the Lions backfield, I like Stafford even more

the lions backfield may be one of the deepest in the league on talent...unfortunately it is also three deep with health questions. i'd be happy to acquire one of the three in my redrafts this year, with the priority being on draft value rather than the actual player (obviously, smith is a late late pick). there are fantasy points to be had at a good value for where they're going to be drafted. who gets those points week to week? yeah, that's the tough part. i'd value best more in PPR scoring and leshoure more in standard scoring.

...and i like stafford regardless of what the lions backfield does or doesn't do. unfortunately, last year was the end of his mid round days. you won't be able to sniff him later than the fourth this year.

Is there an example of an RB with a similar injury to Leshoure's coming back and producing at a high level? Honest question, not a poignant hypothetical.

From the other thread.

(Rotoworld) Lions RB Mikel Leshoure had a break-through on Thursday, practicing fully for the first time since Achilles surgery last summer. Analysis: "We ran him left. We ran him right. He was making cuts off defenders. He was making cuts as they appeared," said coach Jim Schwartz. "He was a running back. He wasn't doing rehab ... That's an important step. "Leshoure remains on track to become the first running back in NFL history to make a significant impact following Achilles surgery."
