Who Sharks Are Starting: I got your FAQ, right 'ere!

The new interactive tool officially launches today. You'll also find a sort of tour on the front page here.

What exactly is the score? - I could tell you, but then I'd have to hack your computer. It is not percentage or number of times someone is started. It's a number based on a propriety and considerably geeky algorithm. The bigger, the more samples, and the higher the confidence. Punters, for example, have generally low numbers because not many leagues use punters.

Does it consider league scoring systems? - Not exactly, but this is on the to-do list. Most of the leagues surveyed in this tool are PPR.

What's with the projections? and, Why don't some players have projections or stat charts? - This is a known issue I have to punt on. Not my department, I'm afraid. I do think having these for at least offense is good to have though.

What's with those sarcastic load messages? - Lag is a fact of life in building dynamic web applications, so I figure if I'm going to make you wait, I can at least try to amuse you. If you have suggestions, please do post them here. It's a random list with plenty of room.

Planned Enhancements
  • Flex RB/WR/TE
  • Flex CB/S, DL/DT
  • Adjusting for scoring systems
  • Adjusting for actual lineup submission date/time

Yea, I know...I know...this belongs in the Article Discussion Forum, but for those of us who have given up on the front page in the past, Cleffed's newest article is excellent. Of course, his stuff is always good but this is above and beyond.

Basically, it's a continuously updated, interactive look at who we (The sharks in the Tank) are starting, along with other very useful details.

This was my funny "surprise" to the tool. At one point, I could swear I saw Hal talking to Dave, and I had to start paying closer attention. :lol:

By community leagues, are you referring to shark leagues, or all the comm leagues like BDDL, Monster, LoT etc?

It is amazing! Really improved this wek and i think it is one of the more useful tools out there.

By the way, the points per week doesnt seem to make sense. What scoring criteria is it using?
