Please tell me what the difference between what he did and a batter after striking out chucking their bat and nothing happening to them?

It was all on Holbrook's discretion. He read it as an argument of his call, took it personally, and gave him the boot. Doesn't help when you're spiking the ball in close proximity to an ump in frustration. Maybe slightly different since it's still a live ball? Greinke showing him up and then an ump having to call time? That's the only thing I can think of.

The Angels beat out a strong field to land Greinke. The White Sox, Rangers and Braves all wanted him badly, and will now be forced to consider other options.

Texas will likely turn to James Shields. It's not as clear who the White Sox and Braves will pursue next.

Foxsports.com was first to report the deal.
