From all TC reports so far Chris Johnson is looking amazing (just like 99% of everyone else) but can you trust a guy that looked disinterested and uninspired after cashing in last year?

I'm going to let someone else run that risk, unless he drops to a ridiculously low price in our auction.

I have him as the 4th best RB. High floor and top flight ceiling. The total lack of injury history pits him over all the rest IMHO.

I agree with this.

Also, not convinced he was dogging it or not interested.

More likely he wasn't in football shape (his fault; I'm not absolving him for that) and it took him a while to get going.

Also possible he was pressing. Quite common when an athlete signs a big contract.

If I had the #4 pick this year, I would seriously consider taking CJ there.

consider yourself lucky getting C.J later then four. you might just end up with the number one player in fantasy.

its back to normal service on the CJ2K train.

I did a couple mocks from the elbow this morning and he fell to me. I wish.

Edit: Just selected him and Trent 1 & 2 in a money league from the 8.

Were there a lot of QBs taken in the first?

Yeah. 4 point pass TD league.

I'm only doing one league this year and I have the 9th spot. So if he's there I would grab him. I think I would draft Mathews above him though.

Anyone concerned about his schedule this year? On paper it looks to be less than ideal. I don't think I could turn him down though if he falls to the latter half of the 1st round.

I don't take SoS into account...certainly not for my top pick. Anyone I'm looking at taking that high should be able to perform regardless.

Agree with this. SoS is hard to predict year to year, and top stud RBs have te ability to overcome even the top D

Been a pretty big advocate of CJ2K this offseason, and interest in him seems to be growing quite a bit as tc reports continue raving. He's the 4th best back for me too, followed by Mathews

Edit: thought I'd rehash some of my rationale
1) chip on his shoulder. CJ2ks a prima donna as big as they come. Chip on the shoulder means everything in terms of regaining the motivation he lacked last year
2) reported to training camp on time. Conditioning was a big issue in 2011
3) even in a down year he showed occassionally he can still do it. He amassed some pretty solid totals despite some real bad games.
4) if locker takes over (I think he does) a mobile qb is great for opening running lanes and setting up dumpoffs and cj can be electric in the open field
5) speaking of running lanes, Steve Hutchinson anyone? Solid addition
6) he's young still, and we all know his ceiling. Last year seems to be his floor. A worthy risk compared to some of the other backs taken in the 2nd half of the 1st round

SOS is only a small piece of the whole picture, but I'll take everything into account for my 1st round pick. I'll admit it's easy to be mislead by SOS data. CJ's going to play a major role in that offense and will be touching the ball a ton no doubt. He seems to be ready for that. It's also worth noting that they lost their starting center for the season (although he graded out pretty low with PFF's annual ratings). It will be interesting to see who comes out as their starting center this year.

I know it's been like beating a dead horse and not to derail subject, but in a 4pt pass td league, why would QB's go so early????
