Any word on if Austin is playing or not, and at what capacity?

this is the latest from roto:

As is the case with Dez Bryant (knee), Miles Austin (hamstring) remains on target to return for Saturday's practice.
Both starters could have played this week had it been a regular-season contest. Although Austin comes with plenty of risk considering his recent hamstring history, he's well worth the price at his current late sixth-round ADP. Aug 30 - 6:23 PM

Rotoworld - "Both starters could have played this week had it been a regular-season contest."

(FFChamps) Cowboys receiver Miles Austin was asked on Tuesday if there was any way he would miss the season opener with the Super Bowl champion Giants and he said, "no." Analysis: We are sure Austin will play in the opener as well,

In other news, the NY Giants will likely be missing their CB Prince Amukamara. He has a high ankle sprain. NYG will be a little bit weak at DB so expect big things from the Dallas WR's.

Dallas' line is weak though, and the Giants have the best D-line in football...

Not to mention that Witten is out which will amount to even more targets.

I think they will be be productive but miles is more reliable. Dez might get shut out in the second half again!

It is much better than last year. Center is basically the main question mark. There is a stud in the making at left tackle and Free should be better on the right which was his natural position. Bernadeau has looked good so far and Livings, not sure about him but he is an upgrade over whatever they had last year. If they can find a center either through trade or wire, the line will be much improved unless there are major injuries.

Everybody practiced Saturday and Witten is a game time decision. I'm thinking Murray early and often, hopefully out in the flat away from NYG's D-line.

Almost certain Witten is gonna be out week1. Hasn't even been cleared for contact yet, and the opener's in less than 3 days.

But it looks like Miles n' Dez are a go

Sounds like we should know Tuesday.

Quote:
(TheHuddle) Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (abdomen) is scheduled to undergo a CT scan on his injured spleen Tuesday, Sept. 4, to determine if he has a chance to play Week 1. He said he will play in the game if he is cleared to play. Analysis: Hopefully this holds, letting Witten's fantasy owners whether or not they can depend on him for Wednesday night's opener. If not, they'll have ample time to find a replacement.

Quote:
KFFL) Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and team owner and general manager Jerry Jones were both optimistic Sunday, Sept. 2, that TE Jason Witten (spleen) would be ready to play in the regular season opener Wednesday, Sept. 5, against the New York Giants. "As of what I know, I think he's going to (play), yes," Romo said
