Any Steelers fans out there that can give any input on Mendy's status? KFFL says he practiced and looked good. It sounded like it was in pads. It said he might start week 1, but then went on to say it probably wasn't realistic to assume he would. Is he worth picking up and stashing on my bench?

Do not expect him this week, only reason he'll be active is if Redman can't go and Mendenhall would only be an emergency plan.

Whether he's worth a roster spot or not depends on league depth, in an average sized league I'll bet he gets dropped over his week 4 bye so instead of eating a roster spot on him now I'd just wait until then and consider picking him up then. See how the first 3 weeks shake out, I really like Dwyer to come out hot so Mendenhall may play 2nd fiddle all year.

I'm not a homer and I've heard the same things you probably have. But id say it also depends on who you'd be dropping...I usually have a guy on my team who could be dropped without thinking about it if need be. I'm hoping its dwyer because if he does good this week then Then the coach could reward him as the starter

Another Mendenhall thread? I doubt he plays week 1. I doubt he plays until after their bye week unless they suffer more injuries. As far as if he is worth picking up I guess it depends on your bench but that is for another time and place......like the Trade, Waiver section.

I'm starting to think Dwyer is the man to pick up until week 5.

Just been my team since I could walk though.

And while it was good to hear he looked good, I don't expect anything from him to be honest until week 3-5 unless he gets some kind of spot duty and explodes for whatever total.

Worth a stash? Depends on your league, and who you'd be dropping for him. Fortunatley I'm in a 20 man roster limit, so I got the space to stash him and see what happens
