I know it's just one game, but Romo looked locked in and in full control of the offense. Even with a center signed off the street a few days ago, Romo looks in complete charge of this team. Very impressive 2012 debut.

Agreed 100%, and I'm one of his bigger critics. Mighty impressive, and clutch.

Totally agree. That dude makes something out of nothing more than any QB in the league. He's hurried and spinning around behind the line of scrimmage and still completes 20 yard passes. I know tonight isn't the best example given how weak the Giants are in the secondary, but he's been doing it for years. He has never gotten enough credit.

I will say he hasn't been clutch in the playoffs, but those losses obviously aren't all on him. I've won two fantasy championships on his back. I'll take him at his ADP every year.

Romo has taken a huge step this off season with maturity and leadership... marriage and a kid will do that to you. I think he comes into form this season and realizes a good share of the potential he's always had. As a Cowboys fan, I'm looking forward to watching this team.

Yea he did the same to my Niners last year in the 1st game of the season. But I think this year he will be better if hist players stay healthy. And a good dose of the RUN game will help...the cowboys never really run it in so the Rbs end up setting the table for Romo..and keeps the defense on their heels

That's exactly what I was seeing. It's not just the good game, it's the poise and command he showed that impressed me.

I know he's had good games in the past and especially early in the season as Lundy said, but I was getting a completely different vibe from him to start this season. I know it's hard (impossible) for those Cowboys haters to see something other than the backward hat wearing buffoon and they'll just regurgitate whatever they've been spewing for the past few seasons, but we need to give credit where credits due.

Yeah, I'm sticking my neck out there on this one :D

Romo has been productive for a good while now. I never usnderstood how anyone can knock him as a fantasy qb, or an nfl qb. He's not as clutch as eli. true, no doubt. What eli has done is remarkable, absolutely my opinion on him. Romo is still an excellent fantasy qb.

Doesn't anyone remember how hard the entire Cowboys team except Romo tried to lose this game? Hatcher's penalty on what could have been a fourth down, the multiple penalties that almost put them out of FG range before Romo connected with Austin, Witten's holding call that could've resulted in the Giants getting the ball back with more than 2 minutes to go - I could go on and on. Even the Giants' last TD had a number of botched tackles by the Cowboys.

I was constantly thinking back to last year's season opener for the Cowboys when the played the Jets. I was sure they had that game closed out before a series of brutal plays. I was just waiting for them to self-combust before Romo made those clutch plays (the Austin TD on 1st-and-30, the last pass on 3rd down to seal the game). I am not a Dallas fan (although I do root for Romo) and I find it hard to watch them give away games in the end. How do all you Cowboys fans manage to do it season after season?

I believe Romo gets unfairly judged only because he plays for the Cowboys. I can't help but wonder how things would have been had Payton taken Romo with him to NO. Here is hoping he shuts up some critics this year.

These types of threads crack me up; especially when it comes to Romo. Obviously a few plays can define a player's career, but looking at the entire body of work which is more emblematic and less prone to luck/misfortune:

Total QB Rating of 97.3 It's highest in the 4th quarter with 103.0. Between 2 minutes left in the half and overtime, he has a 100.8 rating (a 27:8 TD:INT ratio while completing 63% of his passes). He's also at his best on 4th down with a 112.1 QB rating. In fact, when it's 4th and >3 yards to go, he's 14/17 273 yards.

Closing note...Since Thanksgiving week (week 12-17) from 2009-now....Romo is 232/333 2708 yards 19 TDs 3 INT...good for a 109.3 QB rating. Enough said.

Not bad for a 6th round qb! I too believe Romo is poised for a career year in 2012.

All you Romosexuals have me to thank for his upcoming career year. I've had him since his 2nd career start and just traded him in my old school dyno. Never have been able to understand how people cannot seem to separate their FF opinins from their anti Cowboy bias. Romo has been a GREAT value for the last several years. This may have been the last year you could steal him so late.

Even worse than being signed off the street, Ryan Cook was traded from the Dolphins, where players go to suck.

That first quarter interception was pretty bad, but it was like he was just getting it out of his system. He was great the rest of the night.
