Which of these guys will have more value this season? Do you see either of them having breakout potential?

They both have potential, but I don't expect either to be consistent.

If it's an either or, it's Dickson - was the leader in the clubhouse and Pitta missed the preseason. I'm not taking either though, not now anyway, Rudolph is my backup TE in all leagues with a backup TE, in the one with 3 Moeaki's it and Dickson is already rostered. Not enough upside imo, just another 600-700/4-6 TE.

Oar - you still think it is Dickson? Pitta looked real good on Monday night against the Bengals.

I don't normally roster two TE's but I am seriously thinking of adding Pitta everywhere

Dickson (who I own for peanuts in a dyno) was getting rocked all game. I'm going to give it 2 more weeks to pass judgement. Cincy didn't really seem to have an answer to Pitta after Jacoby Jones (of all people) starting running wild on them.

Interesting take on Pitta by Jeff Pasquino of Footballguys.com

"I think Pitta will be the top tight end target over Dickson in Baltimore. Joe Flacco is a good friend of his, which never hurts, and Pitta really came on and made big catches for the Ravens down the stretch. Pitta had 47 catches on 68 targets, plus they moved Pitta outside as a WR / SE more, which Ed Dickson can't really do. Pitta's always been a receiver first - but even Ray Lewis complimented that he can get blocks done when called upon to do so. Add in that Baltimore is unlikely to have a FB on the field and I can see 12 personnel (1RB, 2TE) on the field quite often too. Pitta's sure hands and his connection to Flacco is not to be taken lightly. I would not be surprised at all to see Pitta with more targets than Dickson this year. "

Nope, Pitta picked up where from where he was at season's end, surprised after he missed so much of camp. I'm not going after him in redrafts because I already have my upside TE in Rudolph, but I put in and missed claims in dynasty.

Keep in mind, the Bengals are notoriously awful at covering TEs.

Yes they are, which means the Browns will throw at your stronger corners 50 times Sunday.

I think it's time to just combine our crappy teams into the Ohio Brown Cats.

Yep I've been kicking Pita around, too. Haven't made the move yet, but I'm building up to it trying to talk myself into it.

Agree with this assessment.

What impressed me about Pita was not only the 8 targets, but he seemed to be Flacco's first read on a few plays, including the TD.
