I don't want to burn waiver priority on defenses so I was looking to pick one up for next week now. Yahoo! is projecting the the rams(STL vs ARI) as a huge winner; using my settings at least. What do you think; solid play? Is it better than NE Vs DEN?

I looked at Yahoo too and your right... it does say rams/Ari for 13pts! I like the Rams. Especially with Defensive minded Jeff Fisher there now. Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins shutting down corners! It's a division rivalry game so anything goes. Just not sure ARI offense wont get it going and RAMS D isn't very good outside of their CB's.

But if my only other option is DEN/NE game i would go Rams. As I project NE and Denver to bang it out a little bit in scoring!

I sorta like the Atlanta/Washington game if they are available? Falcons D is slowly but surely becoming a formidable Defense this season. Im staring to check them out and they have a decent schedule ahead. SEA/CAR and the reverse of your game ARI/STL sounds promising.

Sam Bradford's gonna get swarmed. I'd be too worried about Arizona Def TDs to start StL

Keep in mind ARI Defensive TD's do not count against their oppositions Defense (Rams). As it will be the offense that is scores against. Check your leagues settings burt Yahoo and NFL.com is set up that way.

Yahoo! leagues actually use total points allowed to the opposing team, which doesn't exclude D/ST TDs.

Points Allowed 0 points 10
Points Allowed 1-6 points 7
Points Allowed 7-13 points 4
Points Allowed 14-20 points 1
Points Allowed 21-27 points 0
Points Allowed 28-34 points -1
Points Allowed 35+ points -4

The only thing that varies is the points for each. Never played in NFL.com leagues, so not sure about those.

Yahoo points against only factors in points the D or ST gives up. Not O.

Wow, can't believe I didn't know that. Thanks for the enlightenment.

It's a good scoring restriction to have, but the only problem is kick returns/interceptions/fumbles that don't go all the way to the endzone. Those are still gonna be credited as offense, even if the defender gets taken down on the 1 yard line, so you still have to factor that in.

(Ex. If Bradford fumbles at the beginning of a drive and it isn't advanced, it's still most likely gonna be 3 offensive pts, potentially 7)

I'd imagine that most leagues are set like that... I've never heard of anyone penalizing DefensivePointsAgainst for points scored against the offense.

I drafted ATL and ARI, everyone in my league laughed at me. Which unit do you prefer this week?

Let's hope Dockett comes back soon. He's a huge part of that D.

Crap on a stick.

Cardinals DE Darnell Dockett (hamstring) is doubtful for Week 4.
Dockett has not practiced this week after injuring his hamstring in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Eagles. If Dockett does not play, the Cardinals will likely turn to Vonnie Holiday to play opposite Calais Campbell. Dockett has only missed one out of a possible 131 career games. Sep 29 - 9:24 AM

Fingers crossed he's only out for 1 week.

As much as I hate to say it... Cowboys D, on Monday Night!!! For those that own the Packers D, this week might be a good replacement.
