Dustin Keller - TE - Jets Dustin Keller (hamstring) expects to return for Week 6.
Keller has been dogged by this hamstring issue since the preseason and has missed four of the Jets' five games. Although he's optimistic about playing against the Colts, we'd make him get through a full week of practice first. Keller has had a couple setbacks when returning to activity.

I think there could be some good "volume-based" production here once Keller is back and healthy. It would be kind of a speculative add I admit, but for those owners who have been shuffling the TE2's around trying to find a consistent option... he could be a nice pickup. I obviously wouldn't start him until he proves he is past the hamstring injuries.

The Jet's offense is desperate for weapons right now and Sanchez loves throwing to this guy. Keller is looking to salvage his season in a contract year. In time...I think he could be more consistent and reliable than a lot of the TE's out there on starting fantasy rosters. The best thing about getting him now is that you probably don't even have to use a waiver priority on him. I'd imagine that he may be available as a FA later this week in a good amount of leagues.

I like this play a lot. Keller has been a consistent fantasy producer- not spectabular but he always seems to finish in the top 10, and the opportunity for a ton of volume is obvious. Once he's back to a solid snap count, there could be a consistent floor of 7 fantasy points, with the potential for bigger days based on a possible TD.

I drafted him in late rounds thinking that he'd be a decent backup.

But with Gates as my TE1, I've been hoping he would get healthy enough to start. :F

Too many quality TEs this year to choose from. I've got Owen Daniels as my backup in a few leagues.

Might be worth a flyer in a deep or 2 TE league, but otherwise I'm passing.

That's kind of what I was gettting at. Although, I'll bet that there are players in your league that are starting TE's like Pitta, Bennett, Olsen, Chandler, etc.. All of those options have been very inconsistent (I get that WR's and TE's always have a lot of variance). I'm just suggesting that those owners to at least consider using a bench-spot on Keller and waiting a few weeks to see what happens. He could be in for a lot of targets I think.

True. I guess I'm a little spoiled right now. :)

I still would lean towards the likes of Martellus/Olsen before I reach for Keller, but ya, flyer wouldn't hurt to see how he does on return

yes.

As a Jets fan, he's a welcome sight. I think he's a low end TE1 and a great bye week filler. We'll see how he does this week and maybe he'll be a dependable starter again. Of course the Jets have a bye next week.

Same; Daniels on bye week and the only other noteworthy TE available was Olsen but I'm not trusting anything related to Cam for the remainder of 2012. :Drink)

I only have him in one league. Of my other teams, I wouldn't start him over Hernandez, but I would start him over Cook and Bennett.

The Dolphins weakness is everywhere? lol. That myth has been busted, while you guys are about to get thumped by a 1-5 Chiefs team being lead by Brady Quinn.

How many leagues are you in?

If you have a specific TE as your backup in multiple leagues, I would have to guess 20+?
