Continuation of the RaidersFan series, this time for middle tier WRs (really, everyone but the top guys, who are really hard to trade for. CBS trade value chart values: 20-13). In the order of CBS, with CBS trade values and similarly valued trade targets:

Percy Harvin (18) (DMC, Frank Gore, Ridley)
Larry Fitz (18) (same)
Victor Cruz (18) (same)
Andre Johnson (17) (Stafford, Cam, R. Bush, Alfred Morris)
D. Thomas (17) (same)
Roddy White (17) (same)
Brandon Marshall (17) (same)
Reggie Wayne (17) (same)
Wes Welker (16) (DeMarco Murray, Matt Forte)
Mike Wallace (15) (Peyton Manning, Willis McGahee)
Marques Colston (15) (same)
Miles Austin (14) (Mendenhall, Ahmad Bradshaw)
Desean Jackson (13) (Doug Martin)
Dwayne Bowe (12) (Vick, BJGE)
Torrey Smith (12) (same)

I think the rankings are generally pretty good/accurate. Most intriguing prospects to me are Marshall, Wayne, and Welker. Hard for me to believe that Wayne doesn't come down to earth given that a rook is throwing him the ball, and teams will adjust. The fftoolbox tool says his strength of schedule is tough as well. Marshall has the talent to put up good numbers, but I think it hurts him that jeffrey is hurt and I can't bring myself to trust Cutler.

I think Miles Austin might be a touch underrated, and think that Bowe is underrated given that Cassel locks onto him and they're always throwing in garbage time. I also think Torrey could be underrated, as he has the potential to put up huge numbers if Flacco stays consistent.

Any thoughts?

AJ is your best target right now, the rest are going to be hard to bye right now.

Interesting. If I can get Stafford for AJ, I think I'd take it.

I'm just trying to figure out how most of these WRs are considered "Middle"-Tier WRs... :-k

Most of these guys are the top-tier scoring WRs right now and trading them seems simply put..."dumb."

I was thinking the same thing.

Also, this must be standard scoring, or why would Harvin, Wayne and Welker be on the list?

Yeah, these are not mid-tier guys. Better to target guys like Dez, Stevie, DePunk, Decker, Crabtree, etc.

I know, I asked the same q on the other thread. His answer was that he was going off of CBS sports rankings.

Now we know which site rankings to stay the :censor: away from

Apparently the people that work at CBS are Gore owners, otherwise nobody in their right mind has Gore ranked that highly.

Out of that list....who are you guys targeting? Will Jordy or Jennings do anything in the latter half of the season? I know a lot of mouths to feed but GB may have to throw 50 times a game.

I know he has shown very little, but Avery may still emerge, given the CAKE schedule that Indy has for the remainder of the season and that defenses will focus on and may succeed at containing Wayne....just a thought. I also think Andre Roberts may be a strong buy candidate. So I guess mine would be:

Buy / Hold: Andre Roberts, Denarius, Randall Cobb, Hawkins, Mike Williams, Nate Burleson
Sell: Crabtree, Boldin, James Jones, Hixon, Rice, Hartline, Vincent Jackson, Avery, Meachem
Cut: Hankerson, Hill, Massaquoi, LaFell

Also, Avery is still getting a large number of targets per game. I haven't watched the games to know why he isn't pulling more of those passes in.

I'll probably hang on to Avery. Defenses are going to have to game plan to limit Wayne. Avery stands to be the beneficiary.

Though he did have 9 targets last week, and only 3 catches.

Can someone who watched the game tell the rest of us how Avery looked last week?

With TY Hilton also stepping up, I'm done w/ my Avery stash. Better options available IMO.

Quote:
T.Y. Hilton caught three passes for 37 yards in Indy's Week 5 win over the Packers.
A middling stat line, but Hilton came within inches of a much bigger afternoon. Hilton muffed difficult passes on his first two targets before having a potential fourth catch wiped away by an "illegal touching" penalty.

I'm currently doing everything I can to buy Maclin. I think his value is as low as it is going to get and Philly has some juicy match-ups in the near future (and in the fantasy playoffs - weeks 15 & 16). Grab Maclin and get your popocorn!

Good luck!
