The current 49ers and former Giants running back was subdued when asked about the rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game.

“It would be different if things were different, put it that way,” Jacobs said, via Mike Garafolo of USA Today. “I don’t have any thoughts on it.”

“How many times have you seen me [on the field] this year?” Jacobs asked rhetorically.

Asked if he was well enough to play, Jacobs replied: “I feel great. I feel phenomenal. My leg is as fresh as yours.”

He admits friustration, despite the way the season’s gone.

“Oh, very,” Jacobs said. “Because I don’t know anything. I don’t know what’s what. But I’m hanging in there, I’m working every day, doing what I have to do. Let’s say I’m just working and doing what I have to do and that’s that.

“I’ve learned over the years when you open your mouth and say certain things, it hurts you, so I’m just going to shut up and keep working.” via PFT

If he ran as hard with his legs as he does with his mouth, he'd still be a Giant.

Green Bay needs a back.

Not a big deal at all. I don't blame him for wanting to play. I'm actually happy he is so passionate about playing. The guy has already won a super bowl, he's made a decent amount of money and right now he is getting paid to sit on the sideline (not risking further injury or head trauma). Yet and still he WANTS to play. You can't be mad at a guy for that. Honestly we can use Jacobs right now, we have been struggling on short yardage situations. I hope he gets to play this weekend. :thumbright: As a fan I'm kind of pissed because I want to see him play as well.

Niners have been fine with Anthony Dixon the last couple games. I think he took the short yardage job that Jacobs was supposed to have. Harbaugh wont just hand him the job so if he wants it he better work for it

He's a short yardage back who isn't very good in short yardage situations.

I told you guys why Harbaugh brought these guys in.

He should probably shut-up unless he wants to be cut.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he got cut. He's worthless.

Maybe Harbaugh didn't want NYG to get film on the guy?

I just saw someone say Anthony Dixon has been good in short yardage situations... -_- Other than that junk time against Buffalo, he is strictly special teams, because he hasn't been performing in short, medium, long... any situation. To the person who said Jacobs hasn't been good in shot yardage situations... -_- that's the only thing he is good at, hence the reason we signed him. Like I said before, it would be a problem if he said he does not care if he plays or not, that would be a red flag. Him saying, hey I was brought out here for a reason and I want to play isn't a big deal at all. When I played in high school, and juco it would bother me (and most players I know) if you got pulled for one play. It's the guy that never has an issue with not playing or riding the bench that you worry about.

The smells a little like Braylon Edwards last year. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's on the WW in a week or two. The team is winning without him. Running his mouth to the media can only get him cut.

I seem to remember a couple years ago that Bradshaw was more productive than Jacobs in short-yardage situations.

But I could be wrong.

You're not wrong. Love the "he's good at it because that's why he was signed," logic.
