DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys

The Cowboys have confirmed DeMarco Murray's (foot) MRI revealed no broken bones, but "some" ligament damage that could knock him out for Week 7 and "possibly longer."
The Cowboys' official website expects Murray to be "questionable" for Week 7, but it sounds like he'll be a game-time decision at best. The good news is that it appears Murray will be back on the field before the end of the month, but owners should consider Felix Jones a must add for the time being. Murray's status will be updated no later than Wednesday, when the Cowboys return to practice.

DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys

ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys believe DeMarco Murray (foot) has suffered ligament damage, but avoided a Lisfranc injury.
Murray's X-rays came back negative, but he's undergoing an MRI on Monday. Ligament damage would likely mean a multi-week absence, but wouldn't be season-ending like Lisfranc issues almost always are. Nevertheless, it's not good news for a player who fractured his ankle last December and was extremely injury prone in college. Owners would do well to snatch up Felix Jones as they await final word on Murray's injury.

More news to come. It's certainly not the best case for owners, but not the worst either.

Grab Felix Jones, upcoming schedule is nice.

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys received some positive news regarding running back DeMarco Murray on Monday, learning the injury is nothing more than the initial diagnosis of a foot sprain.

The MRI results showed no broken bones, but some ligament damage that could be enough to sideline Murray for this week’s game in Carolina, and possibly longer.

While Murray’s status will likely be questionable against the Panthers, the Cowboys should have more confidence with backup Felix Jones, who clearly had his best showing of the season with 92 yards on 18 carries, including a 22-yard touchdown run, his first scoring play since the 2011 season opener.

But the injury to Murray is still frustrating, considering he was on his way to a monster game as well. Murray had 90 yards in the first half before suffering the injury. He got only one carry in the second half before the Cowboys took him out.

After the game, Murray sounded disappointed that he wasn’t allowed to go back in, especially with Jones went to the locker room in the third quarter with cramps. Murray said “I wanted to, but I have to do what’s best for the whole team. It’s a long season.”

The Cowboys were fortunate to dress four tailbacks on Sunday. Backups Phillips Tanner and Lance Dunbar both played in the second half and will likely be ready to play this week as we

Hard to say against that Ravens D.

It's just a hunch, but I could see all three backups getting touches. Felix couldn't even stay on the field for a half.

GD. I've got Murray and I've only started him once. I have Ryan Mathews on Bye in week 7 and Ray Rice on bye in week 8 and planned on using Murray. It figures that would be the week(s) he can't go. Oh well. Week 7 is a bye week loss I guess ... too many starters missing, and now Murray down. I will bet that Murray doesn't come back until week 9, when I don't need him again.

I hope I can get ahold of Felix till Demarco comes back. I have a feeling this could take a little bit to heal.
