He showed up on the injury report and missed practice today (Thursday) with a hamstring injury. Anyone have any inside info? The only report I've seen is from Rotoworld:

Quote:
Jaguars WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Justin Blackmon (groin) were both added to the team's injury report after sitting out Thursday's practice.
The injuries have come out of the blue. It's unlikely that the Jags would hold two young players with seemingly fresh legs out of practice for rest purposes. We suspect the injuries occurred in Wednesday's practice, although there's no information whatsoever on the severity. Check back Thursday night and/or Friday morning for an update, as both receivers are viable fantasy options in an attractive matchup at Buffalo.

I've had Shorts on my bench the past four weeks and plan on starting him Sunday, so I can only assume that he'll be a GTD and then held out of the game.

That makes 4 out of 5 WR's of mine with an injury and Wallace is riding the co-starter bench in Pitt. Perfect timing during round 2 of our divisional head-to-heads. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Holi macaroni, I guess that for me it will be a game time decision between Grag Jennings and Torrey Smith...
Hamstring not good, might take some time to heal...and I might need to look into the WW again...

How do the injuries to Shorts and Blackmon affect Mercedes Lewis' fantasy value?

I have had nothing but bad luck this year in the WR area. G. Jennings, Garcon, Harvin, S. Holmes. I picked up Shorts yesterday thinking James Jones will no longer be much of a factor with Jennings finally returning. Lets just say this news comes as no surprise.

I sure hope he's good to go. We will find out tomorrow. If not, I have Hernandez in my flex so no biggie for me.

Just saw this on Rotoworld, but its not exactly an update... :

Quote:
Coach Mike Mularkey provided no update after Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Justin Blackmon (groin) unexpectedly sat out Thursday's practice.
The injuries apparently happened during Wednesday's practice. The two players were on the field during the media access portion Thursday, standing behind the receivers who took first-team snaps in their place. Check back Friday afternoon for an update. It will be a bad sign if the Jaguars sign another receiver or two in the next 24-48 hours.

Per Roto World:

Jaguars WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Justin Blackmon (groin) returned to practice on Friday.
Fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief, though we still recommend checking back for their official injury designation later this afternoon. The Jaguars run light practices on Fridays, so we will know more after the session.

Well, guess it's a step in the right direction.

This is how I felt reading the title of this thread.

With Desean Jackson on IR, and some other disappointing players, I cant afford to lose shorts.

Seriously diappointing that we didn't get to see the bear actually hit the ground. That would've been awesome!

With Shorts still exhibiting concussion like symptoms, and being ruled out for Week 14, what are owners with a bye week going to do for Week 15? Keep him? Drop him for another wire option?
