Daryl Smith. One of the best LBs in the game. Set to become a UFA. I don't know why we wouldn't resign him unless he has health concerns.

Derek Cox. Again I assume we resign him but he's a good DB.

me too, he will be an RFA and doesn't have a big contract. not sure if there are long term concerns over any of his injuries but he has been awesome in the second half of the season. don't see why Chargers don't keep him but he looks like a cost efficient alternative to the big name FAs if they want to deal. And he is still only 24.

And my intrigue level just dissipated.

I doubt San Diego lets him go. I say they put a 1st round tender on him just to make sure.

Does it not matter that he was released by the Rams, and passed through waivers?

I thought he got released during the off-season. He didn't sign with the Chargers until a month into this season. RFA is still in play until you accrue three seasons I believe.

new coach coming in, fairly deep receiving core, maybe they try to turn a quick profit on him?

they dont need to do anything better than a 2nd, if that. 1 st rounder would be a big overkill, if he leaves the chargers get a great price for him, but nobody is giving that up.
