Sometimes you have to swing at the easy ones, too.

For me I think I'd take Singletary over Lewis, but probably more nostalgia than anything else.

Simply awesome. Followed by Madonna's Live to Tell

Good call. I would hate to see him fade away. Great player.

Well, they didn't play during the same time. I guess that's what I mean when I said Lewis was the best of "my generation". I'm 35 so I only started watching football in the early 90's.

Ray Lewis was the best from the mid 90's to now.

I didn't watch these guys live, but this is how I rank them -
The best in the "generation" before that was LT, with Singletary close behind.
Before them, Jack Lambert
Before him, Dick Butkus

They're both from "my generation" so I think I can pick between 'em. I'm thinking MLB when I think of Lewis, that why I look at him and Singletary, not LT.

Yeah, if I had to choose one LB in NFL history in their prime, I would strongly consider Lewis. I'd probably pick LT, but it is super close. Like LT, no team really had an answer for him and he was the most dominant players ever. See you in Canton in 5 years bud.

MLB he is up there. When you throw in OLB's, it gets murkier.
