Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the QB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Peyton Manning is the most consistent fantasy player of the last decade. He is one of the safest players to draft, and will continue to add to his already impressive resume in 09. Manning has displayed frustration over the personnel changes on the Colts coaching staff, but don't expect it to effect his performance come game time. The Colts o-line is not as dominant as it once was. After experiencing key injuries in 08, the line looks healthy entering the 09 season. Behind a healed front, Manning should have the time to find one of his many weapons. The Colts remain one of the best offenses in the game. Indy's superiority atop the AFC South has been a long one. The competition in the conference has evolved, and Indy is no longer a "shoe in" to win the division. The days of Indy's players sitting come playoff time, due to a season of domination may be over. This bodes well for Fantasy GMs who traditionally had to worry about the Colts studs sitting when it mattered.
The Colts intend to keep Peyton Manning. "Our clear intention is to have Peyton finish his career here,'' Colts president Bill Polian said as the team prepared for a Wednesday night practice at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. "There ...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Peyton Manning(notes) may not have all the answers about the Colts coaching staff.

Draft Analysis
Round 1, Pick 8
Positives He is Peyton Manning, the best fantasy quarterback in football. 40+ TDs and 4000+ yards is to be expected. Plays a full season. Negatives He might choke in a big game and not make it past the first round of the playoffs and...wait a sec...this is FANTASY FOOTBALL...who cares? He has no negatives. Draft Strategy This is the year to take a QB in the first round, provided that his name is Manning. I would probably take him as high as number 3 this year, as the higher third round pick will certainly net me a solid second RB. At 8 this was a no-brainer. Now if only a solid starting RB gets back to me in the 3rd round... (Contributed by: Pat_Smith)
Round 2, Pick 3
Positives What's not to like? He is only the most prolific TD throwing passer in the game! He will produce consistent and reliable points for a fantasy team every week. Plus I don't have to decide who to play at QB. Negatives There is little chance that Peyton will put up the same numbers as he did last year. He is not a running QB, so he actually scores less than Culpepper in this scoring system. I am also concerned a little that the Colts will realize that they can't win the Superbowl if they just rely on Manning's arm. Draft Strategy There is no way both Manning and McNabb would make it back to me for my third pick. So if I wanted an elite QB, I had to take one now. Manning is the easy choice but what this means is I am passing up the top WRs and my second RB because they will be gone by the time I pick as well. I would do this again without hesitation. Round 1, Pick 9
Positives Premier QB on the field and on your fantasy roster, there's a big drop-off in value after he, McNabb, and CPep largely given the 3pt per passing TD, and Indy has what looks to be a fairly pass-friendly schedule in the last two fantasy playoff games. This last point is a theme you'll find throughout my commentary -- when in doubt, I draft for the post-season. Negatives He's not a top 5-8 RB. Draft Strategy I was hoping for Domanick Davis here as my own analysis agrees with the Fantasy Sharks projection that he'll have a big year, but having missed he and my other top backs, I had to go with Manning in this format. I just shook my head when I got this draft message, because this will seriously complicate matters from here on out, especially given this opposition. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.
