Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
After a disappointing 2007 performance Jones rushed for a team record 13 TDs. Hoping to cash in on his 2008 performance Jones sat out voluntary early spring team activities seeking a reworking of his current contract. The Jets did not re-work Jones contract but did acquire his possible successor by moving up in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft and selecting Iowa RB Shonn Greene. If you are targeting Jones use caution based on his age, injury history, and the possibilty of Washington seeing an expanded role in 2009.
The season isn't officially over and I think the Jets playoff run is giving Rex some sort of extra bravado to keep his mug in the limelight. I'd obviously prefer a low profile from my coach until the pre-season.
I'll preface this by saying that ...
Pro Bowl running back Thomas Jones, who hasn't participated in any of the Jets' voluntary workouts because he's unhappy with his contract, will end his boycott next week and report to practice Wednesday, according to his agent. The Jets' other ...
Mark Sanchez arrived at Jets headquarters Tuesday to find pictures of his recent photo spread in GQ splashed across computer screens and hung throughout the locker room. Teammates described the photos as steamy, racy and perfect for a pretty boy ...
Jets coach Rex Ryan had nothing but praise for holdout running back Leon Washington Thursday, but he wasn't as effusive about Washington's agent, Alvin Keels. Ryan, speaking publicly for the first time about Washington's decision to boycott ...
Cornerback Pacman Jones still wants to play in the NFL. Whether or not somebody wants him remains to be seen. The Jets have expressed interest, according to someone close to Jones, but are waiting things out. Jones' agent Worrick Robinson said he ...

Draft Analysis
Round 5, Pick 4
Positives The conference's top RB, though underpaid, is in camp and motivated to have a great season. Jones has done it before and I look for him to do it again in 2009. He is a threat both on the ground and in the air, which will be key especially if youth is served at the QB position. Negatives Jones will likely lose some carries to Leon Washington, and maybe even some goal line chances to Shonn Greene. If the Jets end up starting the rookie at QB, that'll give defenses the chance to stack the line against the running game. Draft Strategy I'm a little surprised to see Jones available in the fifth round, but I'll gladly take him. Sure, he may lose a few carries to Washington and Greene, but if the Jets are to have offensive success, it will be thru Thomas Jones. The new coaching staff will find ways to get him the ball as they will need to control the clock in order to win games, regardless of who ends up as the QB.
This is the time in the draft when many fantasy owners will start to branch out and grab TEs and QBs. While this takes place, I will continue to concentrate on RB-WR to make sure I've got the depth to cover bye weeks and injuries. (Contributed by: doug_coutts)
