After a disappointing season, it's easy to understand being worried about Shockey. However, he's ready to play and has Brees throwing the ball. Looking past him could be a mistake.

Positives Shockey is a Pro Bowl Caliber TE who has moved to a pass happy Saints squad that lacked only 1 thing as far as offensive playmakers go and that is the pass catching TE .. if there's a QB in the NFL that knows how to get the most out of the TE position my vote would automatically go to Drew Brees ... didn't he used to toss the ball arond with some guy named Gates??
Negatives Shockey is always an injury risk and rarely gives you a 16 game season. Draft Strategy With 3 solid WR's and 3 RB's in the fold either QB or TE seemed the play here, the QB ranks have been picked over early and with the low 3Pt TD value the scoring system offers a quality TE with upside seemed the way to go.
