Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
His debut season left something to be desired, considering where he was drafted and how often the Raiders run the ball. His biggest obstacle isn't how many talented RBs split carries in Oakland or offensive philosophy, but whether his running style makes him too susceptible to injury. Not many players possess the big play potential Darren does, and early indications are that Oakland will try to get him more receptions. Then there's average draft position to consider: fantasy owners aren't having to reach for him as early in drafts this year, for the most part.
Ya, they'll probably suck again this year, but wth? ? ? good, bad, or indifferent, they're still the Oakland FREAKING Raiders! any other "all weather" fanz, as opposed to the "fair weather" variety? ? ?...
How do you think he impacts the offense and the development of Russell?
Cable has already mentioned that the offensive scheme will not be revamped/replaced but rather improved upon. That worries me a little that we might not change the OL much ...
Did anyone else notice that Crabtree had more receptions in his first game than Heyward-Bey has had all season! Ha, Ha! Good draft again for the Raiders and Al Davis.(Note: H-B does have the Jamarcus handicap)...
YEP, were kinda stinkin it up,not a historian, but a fan since childhood, ( mid 70s) ohh how i miss those days and the phrase "god damn raiders"
i'm not the most knowledgable, but i do try to reasearch before answering, and make most ...
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders and star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha failed to agree on a long-term contract before Tuesday's deadline for franchised players.
The Raiders placed the exclusive franchise tag on Asomugha in February, which ...

Draft Analysis
Round 3, Pick 4
Positives He's strong and fast and cuts through traffic. He's also a danger to get the ball and throw some passes or catch a few balls as well. Negatives He's a rookie. He plays for Oakland who supposedly have a horrible O-line. Of course, Justin Fargas was a 1000 yard rusher for them...I can only imagine what a player like McFadden can do with the same line. Draft Strategy I went with upside on this pick. I didn't like the veteran RB's left on the board as they all had some relatively big question marks surrounding them. There may have been some safer picks on the board, but I decided to swing for the fences instead....and now have the most hyped-up RB duo in history on my Hammerhead squad. Round 3, Pick 11
Positives Darren McFadden has great versatility. His breakaway speed and athleticism should also make him a great playmaker. He can create separation. He is a solid receiver out of the backfield and a great blocker and should be used on third downs. He is also a tough runner to bring down. McFadden should steal the carries and maybe even be starting in the 2nd half of the season if not sooner. Negatives Fargas is signed to a multi-year contract and could begin the season as the starter. McFadden has suspect lower-body strength and a less than effective runner between the tackles. Fumbling was also a major issue for McFadden in college. He needs to do a better job of securing the ball. There are also questions about his patience and vision. Draft Strategy Had to get another RB in this round. McFadden a low-end # 2 to a # 3 fantasy option with a lot of upside. He is a high risk high reward pick. (Contributed by: GUESS_WHOM)
Round 3, Pick 4
Positives Gets to top speed quicker than any back I have ever seen. Mcfadden is a punishing runner who hardly ever gets taken down by the first tackler. I think he has a very bright future in the NFL and his situation is better than most fantasy "experts" think. The Raiders have a very solid defense and the offensive system installed by head coach Lane Kiffin has already shown results despite erratic QB play. The team has another top rusher in Justin Fargas but he is more of a "shifty" runner who will, at the very least, lose his goalline touches. I predict that Mcfadden/Fargas will have a very similar situation to the one that Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson enjoyed in 2007 Negatives The Raiders' backfield is extremely cluttered. Justin Fargas is coming off his first season with 1000 rushing yards and Michael Bush has looked extremely well in preseason. Although I expect McFadden to eventually gain a majority of the rushing attempts, these players cannot be overlooked.
Draft Strategy Some people think this is too early to take McFadden in this spot. I think MnFadden will outperform his third-round rating and when all is said and done, he will be taken much higher than this in next years' fantasy drafts. I envision McFadden busting out some highlight-reel, fantasy league-winning runs this year. (Contributed by: howelwitzer)
