Fantasy Analysis
Palmer is coming off a 4,000-yard season with the Oakland Raiders, so he clearly has plenty of juice left in his 33-year-old arm to lead new head coach Bruce Arians’ aggressive vertical passing attack. Because the Raiders were frequently playing from behind, Palmer was the king of junk-time fantasy production. He amassed one 400-yard game and five 300-yard games, and he came within five yards of notching two more 300-yard efforts. However, Palmer compiled just a modest 22:14 touchdown-pass-to-interception ratio. His total lack of mobility will be a huge worry while he plays behind what was a leaky Arizona offensive line that surrendered a league-worst 58 sacks in 2012. The Cardinals are hoping first-round pick Jonathan Cooper can help improve Palmer’s protection. If he gets time to throw, Palmer could produce some sneaky-good numbers with help from the elite Larry Fitzgerald. And Palmer’s presence also should speed up the development of talented-but-unproven youngsters Michael Floyd, Andre Roberts and Rob Housler. Arizona likely will be playing from behind frequently, which means lots of throwing and potential garbage-time production from Palmer. If he can stay upright, Palmer is a fantasy QB2 with upside.

Passing: 3760 Yards, 24 TD, 17 INT.
Rushing: 25 Yards, 0 TD.
