Strength of Schedule
Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the TE position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Fantasy Analysis
Shockey has shown strength and leadership, playing despite being clearly hurt, but an injured player can only do so much.
Receiving: 2 Receptions, 25 Yards, 0 TD.

After a disappointing season, it's easy to understand being worried about Shockey. However, he's ready to play and has Brees throwing the ball. Looking past him could be a mistake.

Receiving: 60 Receptions, 620 Yards, 3 TD.

2007 Draft Central
Average Draft Position (ADP) Tracker
Draft Analysis
Round 5, Pick 8
Positives
An elite TE who can beat most other TE on a week to week basis.
Negatives
A knucklehead. I don't know if I can watch this guy. Plus he drops a lot.
Draft Strategy
I'm trying to stay ahead of all the runs. The WR are shot so I am filling up in other positions and hoping to fill in at WR over the year. There's someone out there we haven't seen yet and I hope to pick him up off the free agent pool. (Contributed by: rdsalemi)

Round 7, Pick 5
Positives
Has the potential to be one of the top 5 fantasy TEs. The Giants like to use the TE, especially in the end zone. Not only a TD threat, but can go for big yardage as well.
Negatives
Can produce more trash talk than fantasy numbers and he's had nagging injuries limit his playing time.
Draft Strategy
Shockey has slipped too far in this draft for me not to take him here (7.05), especially since I've considered him with my last 2 picks, too. I have seen him go as high as the 4th round in some drafts. This is a strange year for TEs, there are 6-8 very good TEs so it may not be necessary to use a very high pick to get a good one this year, but 7th round I can't let Shockey pass. Round 5, Pick 1
Positives
Catches a lot of balls and a significant number of TD's, had a down year last year in terms of YPC but still was a solid play at TE. Should be top 5 at the position.
Negatives
Always nicked up. Team has lost Tiki Barber, offense could be weakened.
Draft Strategy
I have Shockey ranked as the clear #2 TE, I didnt really want to take him until the bottom of the 6th round, but felt the next tier of WR's is deep and not differentiated so I can probably get a similar WR at 6.12 or later that I can get here, I dont think he would make it back around to me though so I pulled the trigger now.
