Strength of Schedule
Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Fantasy Analysis

After a disappointing 2007 performance Jones rushed for a team record 13 TDs. Hoping to cash in on his 2008 performance Jones sat out voluntary early spring team activities seeking a reworking of his current contract. The Jets did not re-work Jones contract but did acquire his possible successor by moving up in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft and selecting Iowa RB Shonn Greene. If you are targeting Jones use caution based on his age, injury history, and the possibilty of Washington seeing an expanded role in 2009.

Rushing: 1050 Yards, 9 TD.
Receiving: 30 Receptions, 200 Yards, 1 TD.

New York Jets Team Talk
The season isn't officially over and I think the Jets playoff run is giving Rex some sort of extra bravado to keep his mug in the limelight. I'd obviously prefer a low profile from my coach until the pre-season. I'll preface this by saying that ...

Pro Bowl running back Thomas Jones, who hasn't participated in any of the Jets' voluntary workouts because he's unhappy with his contract, will end his boycott next week and report to practice Wednesday, according to his agent. The Jets' other ...

Mark Sanchez arrived at Jets headquarters Tuesday to find pictures of his recent photo spread in GQ splashed across computer screens and hung throughout the locker room. Teammates described the photos as steamy, racy and perfect for a pretty boy ...

Jets coach Rex Ryan had nothing but praise for holdout running back Leon Washington Thursday, but he wasn't as effusive about Washington's agent, Alvin Keels. Ryan, speaking publicly for the first time about Washington's decision to boycott ...

Cornerback Pacman Jones still wants to play in the NFL. Whether or not somebody wants him remains to be seen. The Jets have expressed interest, according to someone close to Jones, but are waiting things out. Jones' agent Worrick Robinson said he ...

2007 Draft Central
Average Draft Position (ADP) Tracker
Draft Analysis
Round 2, Pick 6
Positives
Talented RB, proven production with Chicago. Up and coming team with the Jets, quality O-Line and coaching staff that likes to run the ball. Solid RB2 with RB1 potential
Negatives
Several Unknowns: Chemistry with team/coaching staff, workload, use in the receiving game.
Draft Strategy
My strategy was to go RB in the second if I could get Portis/T.Jones/MJD. I think there is a decent dropoff at RB after those guys, so I would have gone WR (S.Smith/C.Johnson) if those three were gone. (Contributed by: sloww)

Round 2, Pick 8
Positives
should get the bulk of the carries, good rb,new team has good young O-line,had him ranked 13th
Negatives
getting older, injury prone qb,If Pennington goes down his #'s will suffer
Draft Strategy
Everyone was grabbing rbs.Peyton and S Smith were the only non rb's taken so far.I thought about Chad Johnson or TO but decided I had to take a rb since there were only 5 #2 rbs left on the board. My next pick was gonna be 9 picks away so most likely they would have all been gone by my 3rd rnd pick.So it came down to Jones or R Brown.I like Jones better. He's a better rb at this point in his career.better team, better o-line.I think the Jets will contend for a playoff spot while the Dolphins will be a basement team.Winning teams run the ball alot, losing teams throw alot cause they're always behind.I also figure since my next pick was only 9 slots away and only 1 wr off the board at this point I should still have a shot at an elite wr. (Contributed by: Sanchez)

Round 2, Pick 10
Positives
Proven RB. Easily the most experienced back on the team, so he should get the bulk of the carries. Jets have a young and improving offensive line. Despite 8 years in the NFL, he has only approached 300 carries twice, so not too much mileage on his tires.
Negatives
First season with a new team. Not a great pass catcher.
Draft Strategy
My plan at 2.10 was to try to get a marquee WR, but if there were none available, I'd fill my RB #2 position before it got too scarce. My targets were Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, or Torry Holt. (I had to eliminate the Colts WRs because my first pick was Joseph Addai. I don't want my players competing for points against each other.) Holt was snatched up two picks earlier, so I went with the next RB on my board, Thomas Jones. Now I'm free to pick up WRs that fall through the cracks as other teams fight over the remaining RBs.
