Draft Analysis
Round 1, Pick 12
Positives -Uh, Peyton Manning?
-Finally solidifying himself as the #1 target.
-Entering the prime of his career. Negatives -Marvin Harrison, Anthony Gonzalez, and Dallas Clark. The only negatives are his prolific teammates. Draft Strategy I was hoping Randy Moss would slip through between the RB run, but it was not to be. Regardless, I'm more than happy to land Wayne at the bottom of the 1st round. In a PPR league, Wayne's 100+ catches are a treat to go with his top 5 yardage and TD numbers. He was 11th overall in terms of value last year, so this right about where he should have gone. Round 2, Pick 1
Positives Best WR not named Randy Moss available. Negatives Could Marvin Harrison return to form and steal some of his thunder? Draft Strategy With starting only 2 WRs, I wanted one of them to be a stud... (Contributed by: checo446)
Round 2, Pick 3
Positives Last season he caught 2 out of every 3 passes thrown to him. 104 receptions, 1510 yards and 10 TD. He is 30 years old and in the prime of his career with Peyton throwing to him often. Harrison is dealing with age and injury issues and Gonzalez is still learning. Wayne is probably going to be competing for the top receiving spot this year in the NFL and in my opinion has the best chance of earning it. Negatives Anthony Gonzalez could take off this year and become a favorite of Peyton Manning thus lowering the stats of Wayne. Draft Strategy 2.03 is the ADP for Wayne and I was happy to land him there. Being at that spot, I knew there would be no top tier WR waiting for me at 3.10. I have gone against my RB-RB approach for the first time in a Shark league and I hope it brings me some luck this year. TO was also an option for me, but I see Wayne with better production and definitely more receptions. Wayne is also five years younger than TO. (Contributed by: RatSlinger)
