Draft Analysis
Round 2, Pick 5
Positives Peyton Manning's GO TO guy
In the PRIME of his career
Catches the football as if his hands were made out of glue
fearless over the middle Negatives One over the middle catch away from injury Draft Strategy WR in this league get some advantages
It is very ironic that most leagues do not consider the throwing TD by the QB as 6 points...but catching it is 6 points? Bogus (Contributed by: Tim_Davoll)
Round 2, Pick 7
Positives Great offense and great quarterback. One of the elite receivers in the game. Very consistent. Negatives Big decline in catches from 143 to 94 last year. Is 32 years old and Reggie Wayne had more red zone targets. Missed a game due to injury last year. Draft Strategy When I predrafted this spot I didn't really think Harrison would still be available. This is the first time in recent memory I haven't taken running backs with my first two picks. There is no way I could justify picking Dom or Stephen Davis over Harrison. The key now is to stay calm and not reach for marginal rb talent in the next few rounds. Taking the best available player is easier said than done when rb's are flying off the board. Round 2, Pick 1
Positives Unbelievable shifty. With DBs not being able to make contract this year after 5 yards, I don’t know any DBs that will stay with him. Ty Law managed to cover him only by mugging him. He has an all around supporting cast so defensive can’t key on him. Possesses one of the best sets of hands in the game. Negatives Because the Colts are balanced, he is not their only weapon. This cut down significantly on the number of catches he had last year. He’s getting older, but I don’t think he has started to decline yet. Smallish for a WR, so vulnerable on a big hit, though he has been pretty injury free in his career. Draft Strategy He was a hard choice as 2.01. I have him ranked as my current #1 WR, but still wanted a RB here. However, being pre-preseason, I wanted to make sure whomever I got here was of the highest quality. This is actually a conservative pick in my mind even though it deviates from normal convention. (Contributed by: hemol)
