Fantasy Analysis

Brown is the favorite to win Slaton's "spellar" role. Brown has shown glimpses of potential in his career, but has been nagged with injuries. Back problems lead to him being side-lined in 08. He could surprise as a goal line vulture.

Rushing: 200 Yards, 4 TD.
Receiving: 7 Receptions, 35 Yards, 0 TD.

Draft Analysis
Round 5, Pick 10
Positives
Brown stepped in well last season when needed and seeing as George is a question mark in regards to both his health and contract Brown should see some more action. Brown has simular size and qualities to George. He is a powerful runner that moves well for his size.
Negatives
His inexperience is a big concern especially if George is let go and Brown takes the lead role. His hamstring injury last season is worth noting as these things tend to return if not treated correctly. Reports say that he tends to run upright, a lot like George, which could lead to injury if he doesn't learn to drop his pads before impact.
Draft Strategy
Have I mentioned how much I hate drafting 10th in a 12 team league? I knew going into this pick that it was going to have to be a RB round for me but once again I was dooped by 2 fellow staffers when both Suggs and Duckett got snagged up. This sent me back into the books to see who was still available at RB. After much consideration (and a bit of a reality check), I realized that I would have to take some serious chances at RB this season. Seeing as there are more then a fair share of teams out there with injury prone starters or RB position battles I think I can still get a respectable RB crew. With George's health and contract in question, there is a good chance that he will not only see an increased role but he could also end up the taking over for George completely. Round 6, Pick 7
Positives
Tough runner who was productive in the playoffs for the Titans. Eddie George had 312 carries last year and if Brown is the featured back he will get most of these. Any back with 250+ carries should finish in the top 20. I don't expect Brown to set the league on fire but he should be a servicable rb2.
Negatives
Unproven. George may be the starter or if he is cut another veteran may be brought in.
Draft Strategy
Drafting in July is different from late August drafts. Sometimes you have to take a chance and I thought this was a good time to do that. I needed rb depth and picking Brown gives me a possible featured running back in the 6th round. You can't beat that. Also considered Marcell Shipp but liked Brown's upside. (Contributed by: berndog)

Round 4, Pick 8
Positives
-Talent: I remember this kid in college running all over Nebraska to the tune of 220 yards or so. -Opportunity: Cutting Eddie George so Brown can play shows they have confidence in him.
Negatives
-Experience: Brown has very few career rushing attempts but was successful with those few.
Draft Strategy
Woo Hoo! I was quite surprised Chris Brown made it back to me here. I had seen him go around this pick even before Eddie George was cut. I am now very pleased with my RBs of McAllister, Barber, and C. Brown. With 5.05 I'll either take Matt Hasselbeck or a WR to compliment Chad Johnson. (Contributed by: VikingMan87)
