Strength of Schedule
Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the QB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Fantasy Analysis
Garrard's 08 struggles were due to an injury plagued offensive line and "Bust" filled receiving corps. He finished with career highs in attempts, completions, throwing and rushing yards, but jumped from a near flawless 3 INT'S in 07, to 13 in 08. Despite rumors, the Jags stayed away from drafting a quarterback and focused on re-building their offensive line through the draft. Rookies Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton, along with the acquisition of Tra Thomas, should supply the first-aid needed to the offensive line, and should provide Garrard with better protection. He has been said to have been training rigorously in the off-season, and has reportedly shown up to camp in peak condition. The addition of Torry Holt should give him a dependable veteran option. Mike Walker should step up and supply some spark. At 6'1', 245 lbs, Garrard has the size, power, and athleticism to get some scores with his feet. I look for the Jags to re-establish themselves as a power running team. His passing attempts and yardage could drop, but with a revamped o-line, and improved receiving options his efficiency and TD/INT ratio should improve. As a QB1 he's risky. I like him as a decent QB 2.

Passing: 3100 Yards, 15 TD, 9 INT.
Rushing: 300 Yards, 3 TD.

Average Draft Position (ADP) Tracker
Draft Analysis
Round 9, Pick 4
Positives
Did you know that Garrard threw for over 3500 yards in 2008? He did. And of those numbers, only twice was he over 300, pretty consistent numbers. That's a pretty good recipe for a fantasy QB that is going to be under the radar. Garrard isn't going to lead the league in any category, but what he is, is a consistent and stable starting NFL QB. If he can average a TD pass and 220 yards passing per week, that's pretty good for a mid-draft selection.
Negatives
There are a lot of new and a lot of young faces catching the ball for the Jaguars. In addition, Jacksonville will always be a run first offense.
Draft Strategy
This is exactly where I like to be drafting my QBs, rounds 8-9-10. Since I waited so long for my first (round 8), I like to grab 2 or 3 right in a row in these rounds. This creates depth and increases the chances that one of them will step up to become an above average fantasy starter. (Contributed by: doug_coutts)
