Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the DEF position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
The departure of Ryan and a large portion of the defense can't be ignored, but this is still a top 10 defense even without them. Years may be catching up to Ray Ray, Reed, and the bunch but they're still making plays. They may be over valued though, only take them late.
Unless the Ravens are able to successfully revisit expensive trade scenarios for Pro Bowl wide receivers like the Denver Broncos' imposing, trouble-prone Brandon Marshall and the Arizona Cardinals' disgruntled veteran Anquan Boldin. The Ravens are ...
There's no sense of urgency from the Ravens to replace Mason immediately. The team could look to add a free agent (such as Marvin Harrison) or explore a trade (for someone like the Denver Broncos' Brandon Marshall or Arizona Cardinals' Anquan ...
It’s a busy day for the Baltimore Ravens. They are voluntarily and involuntarily losing players. This time, Baltimore cut defensive end Marques Douglas, who now becomes a free agent....
Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle sits at his home in Florida and waits to be cut. The signs are there. The Ravens recently asked him to take another pay cut. The team just signed cornerback Domonique Foxworth, and some key defensive veterans from a ...

Draft Analysis
Round 9, Pick 1
Positives They have been tormenting offenses for years and last year was no exception. They led the league in sacks (47), second in the league in defensive touchdowns (6), tied for second in the league in turnovers (41), fifth in the league in points allowed (281), and second in the league in defensive fantasy points (197).
Terrell Suggs lead the team in sacks (5th in the league) with 12 in his rookie season and tied for 4th by scooping 4 off the floor. Ray Lewis had 120 solo tackles last season (third in the league). Ed Reed pulled down 7 picks in his second season (tied for third in the league) and took one to the house. Lamont Brightful was fifth in the league in kick returns average (24.7 yards). Negatives Looking.... Looking.... Looking.... ok I think I got one. Maybe. While this defense ranked in the top of most categories they did rank in the middle of the pack in the touchdown receptions area. Draft Strategy I thought for sure that there would be a rash of defenses taken after New England went off the board with the 91st pick but instead 8 RBs, 5 WRs, and 3 QBs went instead. Picking Baltimore seemed like a no brainier at this point and left me needing to fill only 1 position, PK.
This draft went far south of what I expected or planned so I had to change my plan on the fly. With that said I am pretty happy with my team thus far. If I can pick up a top 3 to 5 kicker that will give me a very well balanced team that should be able to compete. (Contributed by: CoreyD)
Round 8, Pick 5
Positives The Ravens led the league in virtually every defensive category that matters to fantasy players, and along with New England, are the top defense in the league. Negatives None, with the exception of the return game not being the most exciting. In leagues where that matters, I give the nod to New England and Bethel Johnson, but not by much. Draft Strategy A defense in the eighth round is usually tough to justify, but here goes: I have a top 1-2 punch at QB, WR and RB, and the depth at RB is gone, with the talent pool not even deep enough to wade in. The talent left at WR is pretty even, and likely to stay that way. I have a top TE already, so no need to go that direction. So the top scoring defense, which is expected to be just as good this year, was just too tempting to let go by. Actually, I am quite happy about taking a defense here. Really. Round 8, Pick 3
Positives Ray Lewis. Aside from the Pats nobody comes close to these guys. Negatives McCallister contract issues may be a distraction during camp. Draft Strategy With all the top TEs gone and my solid lineup at the other positions I felt taking these guys alittle early would be a good idea. They are being taken on the average in the mid 8th round and I don't pick again until 9.10. Very happy to have the DT issue settled and now I can move on to that WR3 or RB4. (Contributed by: Davlar8)
