Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
One of the very few remaining RB's in the NFL to not have to share too much of the workload with other backs, Portis always seems a safe pick for fantasy owners. After a hot start last year (7 scores in first 9 games), nagging injuries slowed his performance, scoring only twice in the final 7 performances. Another birthday candle added to the cake included with a deteriorating offensive line could very well see decreased statistics for Portis in '09. He'll be right in the range of a low #1 and very good #2RB for your fantasy roster.
For all you disgruntled fans here is a website that one of my friends from the dc area put together in an effort to improve the orginization from the ground on up:
As a philly phan I personally like what Snyder has ...
What do you think of Cooley this year? I have always loved him as a player and fantasy player because he's as dependable as the sun coming up in the morning. He's never missed a game and barely any practice in his 5 year career. I love that he's ...
Clinton Portis made his last visit to John Thompson's radio show in D.C. on Wednesday and he didn't sound like a man enamored of his role on the Washington Redskins. He started by complaining about his seating assignment on the team plane and moved ...

Draft Analysis
Round 2, Pick 3
Positives Huge upside. Portis has the ability and track record. Negatives An injury risk. Also a RBBC risk if Betts gets additional carries. Draft Strategy I was happy to see him fall into the second round. I may have drafted Westbrook or Maroney had they fallen to me, however; I believe all RBs drafted outside of the top 10 have significant question marks. Portis' upside is just way too huge to pass up. (Contributed by: Decktard)
Round 2, Pick 4
Positives Portis has the potential to be a top 10 back. Granted he wont catch many balls but he should be a lock for 1300 yards and 9 tds. Negatives His lingering knee tendinitis could be the main problem , hopefully it wont bother him to the point where he would have to miss any time. Draft Strategy I decided to lock up my 2nd RB as Portis was still on the board, between Portis and Maroney I think I have a great combination. (Contributed by: jetsman2806)
Round 2, Pick 8
Positives When healthy, Portis is a very good RB1. He's slipped this year to a late round 2 pick. I have him as the 17th rated RB, projections of 275 carries, 1175 yards, 9 TDs and 30 receptions, 225 yards, 1 TD. He's good value at the 20th overall pick with some upside potential. Negatives He's suffering tendinitis in the knee and probably has some lingering effects of his shoulder injury from last year. The Skins also won't be able to keep Betts off the field after his performance last year so he'll steal some carries from Portis. Draft Strategy Portis was the best of the backs remaining and I really wanted two RBs in the first two rounds as long as there was value. I'm taking a risk that he'll be healthy, hold up through the year and Betts won't take too many carries. I've got a couple of serviceable backs targeted for either the 4th or 5th round just in case.
