Washington Redskins Team Talk
Clinton Portis now concedes that he could have participated in practice more often last season. "That's something that should've been handled differently -- on MY behalf," said Portis, who went on to add a string of excuses for his ...

For all you disgruntled fans here is a website that one of my friends from the dc area put together in an effort to improve the orginization from the ground on up: As a philly phan I personally like what Snyder has ...

What do you think of Cooley this year? I have always loved him as a player and fantasy player because he's as dependable as the sun coming up in the morning. He's never missed a game and barely any practice in his 5 year career. I love that he's ...

Draft Analysis
Round 6, Pick 4
Positives
Three straight seasons of 6+ TDs. Has been a top 5 TE option the last two years, not many people have him on their radar. Young and still developing. Has had good success despite the dismal QB situation and lower target numbers than other high end TEs.
Negatives
Running game features two excellent backs who score prolifically. Not going to catch you long TDs. QB situation is still terrible.
Draft Strategy
With such anemic scoring for QBs and only 2 WRs starting, TE is a very valuable position in the shark leagues. You simply cannot afford to get caught without a quality TE, and waiting until next round would likely sweep the board of good options. (Contributed by: Agenda42)

Round 8, Pick 5
Positives
Is a young player that has improved every year. I believe he has caught at least 6 td's each of the last 3 years. He is in an offense that looks to the TE in a variety of ways, they run designed plays for him and he is a primary dumpoff or outlet target.
Negatives
The redskins are a run 1st team with quality rb's. They will not be looking to pass 1st or even 2nd for that matter. he is prone to having big games and then dissapearing for a game or two.
Draft Strategy
This was the 8th rnd. I didn't yet have a TE and Cooley was the best one left. I actually had passed on taking a TE earlier because I thought he would be there at this spot for me so I have been targeting him all along and got him in the position I wanted him. I'm actually very high on him this year. I think he has the chance to break out in a big way and it fits in with the philosophy I have followed in drafting this years team of taking somewhat risky but high upside guys and hoping enough of them pan out to make me a top team. Cooley fits the bill so i took him. (Contributed by: imyourhuckleberry)
