Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the DEF position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Philly’s defense really stepped up to the plate last year, finishing in the top 3 among NFL defenses in categories such as sacks (48), defensive TD’s (7) and total yards against average (274.3). Emotional leader, Brian Dawkins, entered free agency and is now a member of the Broncos and Philadelphia will go into ‘09 with a new defensive coordinator as well. Sean McDermott will be replacing Jim Johnson, as Johnson will be gone indefinitely, currently receiving cancer treatment. Look for this defense to remain a force to be reckoned with. 7/29 UPDATE - Sad news reported yesterday from Philadelphia. Jim Johnson passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, loved ones and players.
First we lose the great Jim Johnson. Then we lose Stewart Bradley.who in my opinion was on course to prove himself ProBowl worthy this year. Now DeShaun Jackson hyper extends his knee (hopefully not serious), and promising rookie Cornelius Griffin ...
I, for one am glad to finally see some pizazz and variety to what till now has been a boring predictable offense. With McNabb due back this week, and moving forward, is it really a disruption to the offense or just him? :-k...
Eagles Juqua Parker, though, had the misfortune to be discovered with a small bag of marijuana in Bethlehem, as a passenger in teammate Todd Herremans' van early yesterday, during training camp, where every news outlet serving Eagles Nation is in ...
It makes sense that the Eagles might agree to at least guarantee some of the more than $19 million they are scheduled to pay Donovan McNabb over the next 2 years, and perhaps even boost that total. NFL Players Association figures released at the ...

Draft Analysis
Round 9, Pick 6
Positives An aggressive defense that added Jevon Kearse. Traditionaly strong and expect that to continue. Recently added Jeremiah Trotter. Negatives 2 new starting corners after losing Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent. Will this team collapse after losing 3 straight NFC championship games? Draft Strategy I wanted to select one of the upper echelon defenses and was certain if I waited until the next round that wouldn't happen.
Defenses are often overlooked but they are major point providers. It is possible to wait and draft two defenses late and use a defense by commitee strategy. That requires some good schedule analysis and that wasn't going to happen. I grabbed a good one and will continue adding depth in the next rounds (Contributed by: berndog)
Round 10, Pick 9
Positives Never gets hurt. Javon Kearse. Low scoring, ball-control offense. NFL superbowl favorite Negatives Lost some secondary guys this year Draft Strategy Have to get a defense eventually, and Sacks are worth more alot on Defense. (Contributed by: Brad_Wyatt)
Round 11, Pick 5
Positives Attacking defensive style may lead to big points. They get Jevon Kearse and if he's healthy, look for a big contribution. Their front seven should be very solid. Negatives Lost two backfield stars. Could be a downgrade. Westbrook not likely to return punts or kicks. Who will fill his shoes? Draft Strategy Filling up the starting lineup at this point. No individual players really stand out. Defenses score a decent number of points in this system, so I thought I'd snag a pretty good defense. (Contributed by: Sentient_Beings)
