Draft Analysis
Round 6, Pick 8
Positives Dunn is fast and elusive, the kind of player who can rack up some big numbers with a limited number of touches. He has the ability to explode for big days several times each year. Negatives His season ended last year with an injury. He started rehab in March and was only recently cleared to return to the field for training camp. Draft Strategy This is a risky pick, but at this point in the draft, the survivor format of this league is starting to show up in my decisions. I must admit that I wasn't totally up to date on Dunn's injury status before I drafted him. But the reason for drafting him remains the same: I want him for those 2 or 3 weeks when he hangs a monster score and keeps my team alive. If he's ready to go for training camp, that's good enough for me. T.J. Duckett may be the name on the game day program, but Duckett and Dunn are very different types of runners, and there will always be plays in the Falcons' offense designed specifically for Dunn. From a team building perspective, I think it's important to have several good RB's to rely on, when one is out or has a bad day. If Dunn returns to form, he will make a great addition to my team. Round 5, Pick 8
Positives Versitale, quick and has good hands coming out of the backfield. Still has decent speed to the corner and is an elusive runner. I expect the Falcon offense to be able to score alot of points and I think that Dunn will put up good numbers for my #3 RB Negatives #1 negative is T.J. Duckett. It remains to be seen how these two will fit into the offense. The other factor is Dunn's size. He is small by NFL standards and that may limit his effectiveness, especially in goal line situations. Draft Strategy I wanted to take a #2 WR here but couldn't pass on Dunn. His ability to catch out of the backfield should score me some additional points and the other RB's remaining just have too many questions marks at this point. I am hoping that a suitable WR falls to me in the 6th round. (Contributed by: vertigo)
Round 6, Pick 3
Positives Average #3 RB with the potential for some big games. Atl will be lighting up the score board if Vick remains health and Dunn should/will get his share of touches and receptions. Negatives Duckett is the goal line back and he is good for an injury, plus he is coming back from surgery. Draft Strategy I needed an RB#3 to fillin on my bye weeks. Atl. plays Ari and Sea when my other RB's have their byes. (Contributed by: dpstark5)
