Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the QB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Jeff had his moments, playing for Tampa Bay, and played well in relief of Donovan McNabb for Philly before that. But his glory days as a Pro Bowl quarterback were 6+ years ago in San Francisco. He doesn't appear to be a great fit for what Oakland prefers to do on offense but as NFL backups go, and has done nothing in the preseason to make it appear as though JaMarcus Russell's job is in jeopardy.

Draft Analysis
Round 6, Pick 6
Positives Garcia has been a top 10 QB each of the past 4 seasons and I expect more of the same. He's averaged better than 300 yards rushing and 4 rushing TDs in his career as a starting QB. In Cleveland, he'll have new teammates but they represeent a better supporting cast. A better than average corps of receivers and a hot young TE will provide plenty of hands ready to catch the ball. If William Green and Lee Suggs can combine to create an adequate threat to keep defenses honest, there will be holes for the receivers. Finally Head Coach Butch Davis will have a QB versatile enough and capable enough to lead a dynamic offense. Also, playing in the AFC North, Garcia will have a slightly better than average path to fantasy production. Negatives Jeff Garcia has shown signs of age. Remember that he spent a few years in Canada so his body is not as young as his NFL career. His back troubles are very problematic to his role as a QB1. His stats are heading in the wrong direction - down - since his huge season in 2000. The Browns offense struggled last year. They couldn't figure out who was going to play QB and their initial starting RB missed some games with off-field problems. Draft Strategy Heading into the draft I was figuring Bulger, Brady, Brooks, Green, and Garcia would all go about the same time, but I was betting on the 6th and 7th round. I was surprised when people starting scooping up starting QBs before depth at RB or WR so I had to go with the run and get a QB before people started hoarding backups. I figure that Garcia has the chance to crack the top 10 QBs so drafting him as the 11th QB presents a bit of a value. With this pick I've got starters at 3 of the 4 main positions and with the exception of Garcia (who I had to take before the run passed me bye) I've drafted out of a positive VBD position each round. Unfortunately I think it's probably cost me a chance to get a top 5 TE which I was targeting for my 6th round selection. (Contributed by: regas14)
Round 6, Pick 4
Positives He's on a new team, has some decent talent around him in Northcut, Morgan and Davis (all quality WR's) and his new big TE rookie target in Winslow. Maybe all of this talent around him will lead him to greener pastures than in San Fran. Negatives He's no spring chicken and his days of outrunning LB's and adding some quality running stats for your fantasy squad is long gone. But, he'll still sneak in a running TD every once in a while. The lack of a quality running game in Cleveland is probably more a negative than positive for Garcia. Draft Strategy When you're at the end of a run, it can be hard. But, in this case I'm happy. Garcia was in my eyes the last best QB on the board. There was a large drop-off after him. Time to get my starting QB or suffer big-time this year. (Contributed by: Rob_Schare)
Round 6, Pick 12
Positives Jeff had a down year last year but other than T.O. he really had a bad cast of characters around him. He now moves to Cleveland who has a ton of good young receivers. Negatives New system and was last year the real Jeff Garcia? Draft Strategy I knew I would be targeting a QB here and was hoping that one of Green, Garcia or Brady would fall. I have Garcia ranked slightly ahead of Brady. (Contributed by: anchoragegm)
