Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the WR position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
there's this guy in the panthers huddle that has been making these things for a while but he is really getting good.
this is the latest one that he made for the panthers '09 offense.
for the '09 ...
everything i have seen and heard from this guy lets me know that there is a huge shift in the defenses mentality. last year the defense had a "bend but don't break" mentality but meeks is bringing a "find who has the ball a break ...

Draft Analysis
Round 4, Pick 5
Positives Two years ago he was a top 5 WR. He still has the talent, and the team around him is arguably better than the one that surrounded him then. Carolina had no problem watching Muhammad walk, so they obviously are unconcerned. Negatives Missed all of last season with an injury. Appears recovered, but who knows? Certainly not playing on a pass first team, in spite of last season producing the league's number one WR. Draft Strategy WR went a little quicker this last round than I expected, but I am happy to get Smith as my go-to guy. (Contributed by: Pat_Smith)
Round 5, Pick 2
Positives Clear #1 receiver on a surprisingly good passing offense. Negatives Coming off a season ending injury. Draft Strategy Not a real fan of Steve Smith or the Panthers, however, I am sliding into my third tier of receivers now and all of them have some kind of question marks. All indications are that he is back healthy and looking good in camp. Should be putting up some solid numbers for me. (Contributed by: Budman)
Round 5, Pick 4
Positives Smith has been a top 10 fantasy WR before, and he is poised to return to that form in 2005. Many times after a guy misses an entire season, he not only comes back motivated to perform at the highest level again, but due to focusing on rehab, he comes back in his best physical shape. I have no worries about Smith returning to form, I think we've got ourselves a bargain here at 5.04. Negatives Missed essentially the entire 2004 season, however, reports are that he is looking as good as he ever has. Draft Strategy This is a classic case of a guy perhaps slipping a little bit since he was out most of last season. A lot of owners put too much stock in last year's numbers, or three year's worth of numbers, or a player's "upwards curve", or whatever people look at. What you need to do here is look at what Steve Smith has done in the past and use that to judge his draft position. I'd argue that if he wasn't out last year, he would have been a top 10 pick at the position this year, so in that respect, I'm getting a tremendous bargain here. Don't overlook guys like Steve Smith and Anquan Boldin on draft day this year, you won't be disappointed. (Contributed by: doug_coutts)
