The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Buffalo's defense has been average the past few years. The pass rush should be improved with the return of Aaron Schobel and addition of first round draft pick DE Aaron Maybin. Current reports indicate that Maybin will be a contract holdout, and will miss the early part of training camp. LB John DiGiorgio was waived after having surgery to repair his right knee. Buffalo needs to apply more pressure on opposing quarterbacks and force more turnovers to climb out of the middle of the pack.

ESPN reported that one of the candidates that the Bills might be interested in interviewing is the coach from Montreal of the CFL. How crazy would it be if they hired a CFL coach!?! I think that'd be the kiss of death and the Bills would be gone ...

Positives The Bills defense allowed the 2nd fewest yard per game in the NFL in '03. Replacing departed free agent Antoine Winfield is veteran Troy Vincent who with 42 career interceptions, should help Buffalo improve on their dismal turnover numbers from a year ago. Negatives The Bills ranked dead last in takeaways last season with only 18 total (10 INTs and 8 fumbles). Draft Strategy I was hoping for Seattle here, but Buffalo will have to do. Nothing too exciting about this pick. The Bills always play solid defense, but without a fair number of turnovers or a sack machine, they will be nothing more than a fantasy backup. Positives I believe they were the #2 defense in the NFL last year. This squad is a great defense and it, like the offense, only improved over the off-season. With the addition of Troy Vincent, Oliver Gibson, and Jason Gildon, this D will perform and it has a lot of depth. As mentioned above, the improved offense of this team will equate to more defense. Negatives Young defenses ends on the left (Denney and Kelsay). This unit is not a take away machine. Draft Strategy At round 11.06, it was time to get a defense. I think at this point of the draft, I got a steal. The Bills play in the AFC East, a division which has the best defenses in the NFL, that equates to low scoring games and more defense.
