Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the DEF position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
With the undeniably biggest off season free agent acquisition, the Redskins signed DT STUD Albert Haynesworth. Throw in the re-signing of CB DeAngelo Hall and unfortunately, Washington remains a middle of the road defensive unit. They have released Jason Taylor and may find it difficult applying pressure to the QB. Make sure you don't go through the season with the Redskins as your primary defense. They should only be considered as a BYE week fill-in or perhaps during a favorable match up.
For all you disgruntled fans here is a website that one of my friends from the dc area put together in an effort to improve the orginization from the ground on up:
As a philly phan I personally like what Snyder has ...
What do you think of Cooley this year? I have always loved him as a player and fantasy player because he's as dependable as the sun coming up in the morning. He's never missed a game and barely any practice in his 5 year career. I love that he's ...
Clinton Portis made his last visit to John Thompson's radio show in D.C. on Wednesday and he didn't sound like a man enamored of his role on the Washington Redskins. He started by complaining about his seating assignment on the team plane and moved ...

Draft Analysis
Round 13, Pick 9
Positives Good matchup week 1, tolerable matchup week 2, and may or may not be worth hanging on to, being Smoot-less. Negatives They lost one of their if not the best defensive back on their team to free agency. Draft Strategy I like to re-evaluate team defenses every week since despite all preparation there are always 3-4 teams that will surprise you one way or another. In this format, in the worst case scenario, bad defensive performances aren't horribly punished, either. For these reasons, owners seldom hold more than one, and so ultimately this position will likely be filled by waiver wire committee on a week-to-week basis. A couple of weeks before the playoffs, I'll grab an efficient and favorable blend. (Contributed by: CleffedUp)
Round 15, Pick 8
Positives The number 3 overall defense in 2004, Wasington allowed only 267.6 yards and 16.6 points per game. They also have the 5th easiest schedule in the NFL this year (the teams they play have a combined .465 win record from last year). The defensive unit is pretty much intact and should perfrom at the same level this year. Negatives There are a few nagging injuries on the defensive unit, however, LaVar Arrington, rookie cornerback Carlos Rogers and nose tackle Brandon Noble have all been cleared to play. Draft Strategy It was the 15th round and I didn't have a defense yet. Washington is a soild unit and was the real strength of the team last season. A great find for round 15. (Contributed by: mrkkti)
