Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the DEF position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
The Minnesota defense showed some flashes under first-year head coach Mike Zimmer in 2014. The team finished 14th in total defense, seventh against the pass, ninth in sacks and inside the top 15 in fantasy points in most scoring systems. There's still plenty of room for improvement, but with young building blocks like linebacker Anthony Barr and defensive end Everson Griffen and a guru like Zimmer calling the shots, the Vikings could prove to be a sneaky fantasy play for owners in 2015.
