Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Hunter is entering the final year of his contract and the drafting of Carlos Hyde speaks volumes as to how the 49ers feel about Hunter. He has performed nicely when called upon to spell starter Frank Gore. Hunter has shown a nose for the end zone having scored seven touchdowns on his limited touches. Frank Gore will be 31 this season and may see a reduction in snaps, but there is no guarantee that Hunter will be the only beneficiary of that reduction. Last year's fourth round draft selection, running back Marcus Lattimore, is expected to vie for touches with Carlos Hyde and Hunter. Hyde will most likely end up as the primary handcuff to Gore limiting Hunter's role to that of a 3rd-down back and change of pace.
