Fantasy Analysis
It looks like the New England running back carousel has closed down. In previous years, fantasy owners usually avoided drafting Patriots running backs, because the team operated one of the most unpredictable backfields in the NFL. But things changed in 2012. In his second NFL season, Ridley established himself as New England’s workhorse tailback. Some fantasy owners didn’t know that he toted the rock a whopping 290 times and received the bulk of the goal-line duties, compiling 12 touchdowns. Checking in at 5-foot-11, 225 pounds, Ridley is a versatile, athletic runner with a nice burst and good vision. Was Ridley’s week-to-week workload consistent? Yes. He averaged 18.5 total touches per contest, and Ridley either scored or amassed 80-plus rushing yards in 11 of 16 games played. Although New England doesn’t seem interested in using Ridley as a receiver, he still is a rock-solid fantasy RB2. Third-down guy Shane Vereen enjoyed a huge breakout game in the playoffs and likely will steal a half dozen carries each week, but Ridley should remain the lead dog.

Rushing: 232 Yards, 1 TD.
Receiving: 38 Receptions, 388 Yards, 3 TD.
