By playing in 16 games in 2012 it marked the first time in Smith’s career that he’s played in all 16 games in back-to-back seasons. The Panthers failed to address the lack of depth at the wide receiver position, so, once again, Smith will be the only game in town. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has stated that he plans on giving the 34-year old Smith some extra days off during the season in order to keep him fresh and for that we thank him.
