Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. Coming off reconstructive knee surgery, Peterson racked up the most productive season of his career and one of the greatest seasons ever by a running back in league history. A.P. topped the NFL with a personal-best 2,097 rushing yards, which fell nine yards short of obliterating Eric Dickerson’s 1984 single-season rushing record. Peterson also amassed a career-high 2,314 total yards to go along with 13 total touchdowns (12 rushing and one receiving). Thanks to running behind an improved offensive line, the longtime stud has rediscovered his monster-game potential in Minnesota’s famously run-heavy offense. Blessed with an extraordinary combination of power and speed, the 6-foot-1, 217-pound workhorse has averaged 22 total touches, 117 total yards and one total touchdown per game since 2007. Although Peterson is a much better receiver at this point in his career, the Vikings do not use him heavily in their passing attack. Since Peterson is only 28, he should have a few super-productive seasons left in him. A.P. should be the first player selected in all drafts, but don’t expect him to amass 2,000-plus rushing yards again.
