The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
The Carolina defense looks like a weak play. Since Week 5, the Panthers have yielded 28 points per outing. They also have averaged 2.0 sacks and 2.0 takeaways per game. The efficient New Orleans Saints offense, during the last month, scored 34.67 points per contest. New Orleans also gave up just 1.0 sack per outing and committed 2.0 turnovers per game.
This is a defensive unit that could find itself on the field quite a bit in 2014 as the offense is in a bit of disarray. The Panthers led the league in sacks last season and scored four defensive touchdowns. The defensive line remains mainly intact but they have lost some secondary talent in cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and safety Mike Mitchell. Veteran additions to the secondary such as former big play Saints safety Roman Harper and Atlanta's Thomas DeCoud will need to step in and contribute.
