Season Projections
Cox has $63 million reasons to play well in 2016 -- that's how much guaranteed cheddar is included in the whopping deal he signed this offseason. 2016 also brings a change in role, with Cox kicking inside in the 4-3 front the Eagles will run under new DC Jim Schwartz. It's a role Cox told Matt Lombardo of NJ.com he expects to thrive in. 'I played it my first year,' Cox said. 'That's why they drafted me, to play in the 4-3. My role is to get to the quarterback, really. To play the run on the way to the quarterback. From the way that they are explaining it; 'go get the quarterback, create havoc, negative plays are the biggest thing.' I don't think that we had enough of those last year. I don't think we had enough negative plays last year. I think that's going to change.' It's a role that makes Cox a legitimate DL1 and an elite option if your league requires defensive tackles.
