Season Projections
After averaging nearly 120 tackles a season over four years in Indy, Freeman joined the Bears in free agency. He'll call the plays for Da Bears, and Sports Illustrated expects Freeman to shine. 'He reads plays exceptionally well,' they wrote, 'and though he can still be caught flat-footed in pass coverage, he has improved there, plus his motor keeps him in plays many linebackers would never impact. In Week 16 against Miami, Freeman made two goal line stops despite starting both plays on the weak side.' That 'green dot' role will keep Freeman on the field in subpackages, and he has the makings of a solid IDP LB2. If there's a red flag it's durability -- Freeman has missed seven games over the past two seasons.
