Strength of schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the RB position. The best rating is +16 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the worst rating is -16 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
31 touches through two games is exactly where the 49ers want to be to keep their veteran fresh all season. He's making the most of those carries gaining 4+ YPC. Because of the commitment to the run, he's a solid RB2 option every week.
It's become a trendy tradition to write off Frank Gore prior to each season and begin talking up his possible replacements. Kendall Hunter was going to be the man but has failed to top 80 carries the past two seasons and finished 2013 firmly in a reserve role. And, after tearing his right ACL early in training camp he will now miss the 2014 season. Marcus Lattimore is recovering more slowly than anticipated, and the drafting of Carlos Hyde should be a message to all of us. But, all Gore does is produce when called upon as he finished last season as a top-15 fantasy running back in standard scoring formats. That being said, we're going to keep the trend going, as Gore will be 31 years old this year and is entering his tenth NFL season. Father time catches up with all running backs at some point and Gore is reaching that scary plateau where it could happen at any time.
