Fantasy Analysis

For the fourth year in a row, "Matty Ice" finished among the top-10 fantasy quarterbacks in most scoring systems, but the 2013 season was a rough ride for the Falcons' new all-time leading passer. The 29-year-old Ryan's numbers seem downright impressive when you consider Julio Jones (foot surgery) and Roddy White missed a combined 15 games due to injuries. White was largely ineffective when he played at less than 100 percent - outside of five good season-ending performances. Pocket-passer Ryan also received little support from a horrendous offensive line that allowed 44 sacks, which tied for the third-highest total in the league. It's a no-brainer that having Jones and White both healthy will mean good things for Ryan in 2014. The retirement of Tony Gonzalez, however, obviously is a blow to Ryan's prospects and robs him of a trusted end-zone target. During Gonzalez's five seasons in Atlanta (2009 through 2013), he caught 26 percent of Ryan's touchdown passes. The Falcons have been raving about Gonzalez's presumed replacement, Levine Toilolo, but the second-year pro has amassed just 11 career receptions. Slot receiver Harry Douglas, who topped the Falcons in catches and receiving yards in 2013, still is expected to have a notable role in the offense and should help fill the Gonzalez production void. Don't forget - Steven Jackson (33 catches) and Jacquizz Rodgers (52 catches) are both capable receivers.

Passing: 4125 Yards, 31 TD, 14 INT.
Rushing: 95 Yards, 2 TD.

Just a quick story for the Falcons fans. I heard that Alge Crumpler - in the the year before he left the Falcons - was going to be at the Perimeter Mall Macy's doing autographs one day, so I picked up my son and headed over there to see him. We ...
Not a Falcons fan (and I see this forum has not been visited much recently), but I think Falcons fans should pound the drums for their old uniforms (early Vick era) and Falcon logo back before this new stadium is completed. That old uniform was ...
